Rossi Boutique Hotel & SPA — Attraction in округ № 78

Early August we stayed in an executive room with 3 beds, the view was lovely, the beds comfortable and the updated bathroom well-appointed. The shower did tend to run from warm to too hot at times for no apparent reason. Our room was not ready the day we arrived as another guest had extended their stay, a tray of fruit and bottle of wine was left for us and we were moved the next day. The first night there was a fold out sofa but it was not made up at all and we needed to call someone to come and do it late in the evening when we returned. (It was also rock hard according to my daughter!) Bottled water, tea and coffee, kettle, mini bar, safe and kettle were available in the room, though the bottled water was sometimes not replenished and had to be requested. One night they brought up a pitcher of water as they had run out of bottled. It was an exceedingly hot and dry summer! The service was friendly, above par our Russian friends assured us, and the level of English spoken was very good, though there were a few misunderstandings. Breakfast was good, though in the middle of summer one would expect more fruit. The blinis are popular and go fast, people wait for the next dish of them to come out. The hotel arranged for our transfer back to the train station on our final morning at a good price which was welcome. We had an early train and they packed breakfasts for us which contained no fresh food, but the yogurt drink and extra water were appreciated. Wifi worked well, the rooms were non-smoking and very clean. Read through other reviews and information to make sure you are aware of the hotel details and amenities (like pre-booking any spa treatments). The sauna and pool are small, but available for free use in the mornings for hotel guests, after which they charge a fee. Make sure to wear pool shoes as the floors can be slippery. The staff is friendly. The room is really beautiful. But, follow the reasons why I gave 2 Star:

1. they advertise to have pool. They don’t. Only 3 hours til 10:00am is free. Then you need to pay.
2. they advertise to have massage included. They gave me a voucher of 30 min for free and the spa was fully booked for all days. Including the pool. You can’t used even if you want to pay.
3. tv has a problem. No sound.
4. phone not working. To call reception need to call by my phone.
5. I finally booked to 17:20 a massage in the SPA. I made my plans to arrive at the exactly time. When I arrived, the lady told me that she didn’t find my reservation and they were full. I explain even the name of the therapist was given to me. But the lady didn’t manage it. So I rested my case and return to the room. Sad to have so unprepared and unorganized staff in the hotel. Hotel could be nice but advertise as Boutique SpA hotel you should be it to generate good impression.

Not so good experience at all. This text above I wrote 1 day before left the hotel. I gave 2 stars at the moment I wrote. But I edit the post 10 hours late and gave them 4 stars.

For my surprise, a very gentile lady Katherine, approached me and recognize the error and give me a good explanation. Also a msg very fast from the manager. So I am giving now 4 stars, because a hotel can make a mistake but if owners and manager react like they did, better companies will rise. To the manager, thanks for the attention. Reaction to my comments was perfect. I will recommend the hotel for the humble way you did. I know you will improve the service. I run a business also and I know how to recognize when people really react well for some critics. Hope that I ve helped you to manage a better hotel...

I loved the Rossi Hotel and the location is perfect for exploring St. Petersburg. Coffee always available (cappucino!) in the lobby, and the library -with cookies - from 5-8 pm. Knowledge and friendliness of front desk staff and housekeeping is a plus. I must give special recognition to Vitaly, who helped turn off the heat in my very hot room, and assisted with other requests throughout my stay. I walked the halls to see the art on display - a lovely gallery everywhere! A few "less than perfect" aspects: the library is a quiet, place but the lighting is very bad if you plan to read there. I was very disappointed in the restaurant (I know it is a separate business) but the menu is limited and I had to venture out to find more variety and food to my liking. I'd like to see a different restaurant entirely. Bathtub in my room was hard to get into - need railing on wall to assist older guests. Also lighting in bathroom (room 508) is VERY dark. A makeup mirror on the wall might help. If I return I would definitely...
