Read moreI am updating my feedback with one additional star for the exceptional cashier I interacted with 15 min ago, he’s Shammeri. Very helpful and courteous.
I have visited a few times, tried several products, and it’s time for feedback:
Plus 👍🏼➕ Location, design and layout (minus some aisles) is excellent and beautiful Some long-shelf snacks, if you find them are good (but expensive) I am missing waitrose organic instant coffee, sold out for a long while Dairy range, is interesting, only if you’re lucky (also expensive).
Minus 👎🏼➖ Imported fresh produce (veggies & fruits) and all other short-life products are mostly comprised and expensive (after a few attempts, not worth it.) yesterday I bought heirloom tomatoes as they’re not available elsewhere, and they didn’t pass my test but looked ok/good Bakery & bread, need to level up their game, Most customer facing employees score 4/10 and very very few score 8/10- the latter is usually based in fruits & veggies section and entrance section. The security guy yesterday’s afternoon was fantastic and very friendly to all. Nuts section, not exciting
Verdict I would only come back for some specific long-shelf life products (and British strawberries, I am a fan.) If there’s a monthly membership or promos I might consider coming for my weekly/monthly needs (Please bring Waitrose to Riyadh, but with similar quality and...
Read moreAs of today (7/6/2025) spinnys has been open for 11 months. The major downside is:
lack of consistency, at first i understood that restocking products is not as easy given that its a new supermarket and it will take some time to nail the logistical and operational aspects in Saudi. However, 11 months into operation and it is still the same, very inconsistent! They would have an item in stock for a week (i.e cottage cheese) and then it would be out of stock for months after. I understand that it is imported thus takes more time to restock but we have many other examples of saudi markets who are keeping the consistency with imported items.
expired or moldy items, this is a MAJOR ISSUE and it keeps happening. Giving that i visit Spinnys on a weekly basis on a mission to hunt-down (cottage cheese) i come across so many dairy items and cheeses with mold and/or almost expired. This is a big no no in the food industry. The problem is as much as i have reached out to the managers and pointed out those items, the same keeps happening.
lack of transparency, this been happening lately as i noticed that some meat items are set to production/packaged date to tomorrow’s date… this raises many questions on if the meat is actually fresh since the mislabel dates.
Lastly, i believe there is a severe lack to operational management since i noticed a good number of similar review in here but unfortunately i haven’t seen any improvements not response to identify any concerns...
