Free way to access anse d’argent: Enter through the free public beach to the right, before entrance to this estate. You have to wade through shallow, knee deep water for about 15 feet past a stone/brick short wall. Afterwards, just walk across the beach until you arrive. All beaches in the Seychelles are free to access. I went around low tide and came back at high tide and the water never got higher than knee deep and you’re in the water for about a minute.

Also, if you’re coming from the hike you can just head onto the beach at any point when getting on the estate. The shortest path to beach access to exit would be near the cemetery near the entry/exit gate.

I would have paid the fee but the front security lady (bigger, in olive colored button up, about 5’6 after getting up in my face) is incredibly rude to the point of borderline harassment. After asking about the path to the beach she lied to me saying there is no other path and after I mentioned the beach she started backtracking saying it was very dangerous multiple times and that I just needed to pay the fee. I had previously asked multiple locals to make sure it was safe and all of them explained it was and that this beach is literally protected by the reef which makes it current free (no riptide concerns, very swimmable beach) and very shallow. It just felt like a ploy to force people to pay for a beach that is literally free access. Deceptive and made me annoyed enough to write this review. Take the free access! You can also read other reviews here detailing how to access for free.

Also, the tortoise enclosure is inhumane with the tortoises essentially piled up in a small area. This is a protected species and should be treated as such instead of crowded in...

We had a very shocking experience seeing some disturbing incidents at the tortoise enclosure in the park and therefore ask the staff of the park to protect the tortoises better from people. First, a big group of tourists had stepped into the enclosure and was touching the tortoises although a sign on the left side explicitly forbids to step into the tortoises’ area! Later, we had an even more shocking experience which makes us write this review, with the hope that the staff at this park will take care of the tortoises and protect them from selfish people. A man had stepped into the enclosure and kept provoking the tortoises by knocking on some tortoises‘ shells, waving his hand directly in front of their faces and he also wanted to make one tortoise eat from a branch of leaves. Although the tortoise moved in its head into its shell, he did not stop disturbing it. We would have wished for the tortoise to bite off the man‘s finger, but who knows what he would have done in return to them. It was a very saddening experience at Union Estate Park and we left it very frustrated. We hereby hope and ask the staff to protect the tortoises from...

Worst experience we encountered over our 14 days stay in Seychelles. 🇸🇨

On the first day we arrived to La Digue we wanted to briefly visit (since it was already after 4pm) Anse Source d’Argent beach as we so much heard about it. As we never had any issue in Seychelle to reach to the beaches, since no private beach is allowed in the country, there was always free entrance to any beach on any of the island. Even to those beach was free to access which was only accessible through the Four Seasons Hotel.

L’Union Estate is literally the only one in Seychelle insisting to charge you 150 SCR per person to walk through their park to reach to the beach. When you question this they become very rude, the security and another lady insisting this is the only way to the beach and we must pay if we want to get through.

Save yourself 150 SCR and the hassle with the rude staff, as THERE IS a free way to the beach!

Just before the helipad, go to the beach and walk along the coastline. Its a beautiful 10 min walk to the picturesque Anse...

This is how you get to anse d’artagne for FREE. Beaches are by Seychellean laws not allowed to be private property. Union estate farm have a toll booth and a sign indicating you have to pay to visit the beach, this isn’t true. They want you to pay for using their park road which is a 2-3minute walk to the beach. They can’t charge you for the beach. (Posting picture where you can easily wade through by the water for 40metres. Depth is waist and below close to high tide at 3pm/15:00. Come in swimming shorts!) History of how we found this out. Wife and I made the Hike from Anse grande via anse maron and continued to finish the hike by anse d’Argent and then trying to walk home. Walking 3 minutes through the area trying to leave they wanted us to pay 150 rupees each. Which we of course strongly disagreed with. After disputing they told us we could march through the water, not using their path and it would be free. So we did. Couldn’t be happier!

As many people already mentioned, you can get through here to the beach everyone likes to visit. It is understandable you do not want to pay every day to just get to a beach, but that's the toll, take it or leave it (and realize how often do you pay somewhere just for parking your car or similar). We chose to explore the park itself properly once, not just walk through, the beach was not our main target. Vanilla, banana, coconut, turtles. Some essential oils and other souvenirs in the shop. Perhaps one would expect a bit more than that and few goats, rabbits and cows. Do not over explore every corner of the area, you might end up seeing a very nasty dumpsite which was dissapointing, you would not expect such in close proximity of a nature park... (but now you know what is done with rubbish on this small island)

The photo shows a terrible woman - lying, impudent, disrespectful of customers and laughing at them. A terrible place, preying on tourists who want to see the recommended beach - if you spend a week there, every day they want you to pay them 10 euros per person for access to the beach. With just a few people it becomes quite a sum. I definitely recommend getting there via the beach. Just check what the tide looks like that day so you can pass the helipad before the high tide. Additionally, they built the only fences on the island near the beach to make it as difficult as possible for tourists to reach the beach without passing through their park.
