I and my wife wanted to spend our first anniversary in La Digue and decided to book La Digue Holiday Villa. It might seem a little pricey at first but it was totally worth it. As soon as we checked in, Kit (the owner/ owner's son) helped us with the highlights on the island. He even gave his number to reach out to him in case we needed anything. ||This property is well planned with beautiful landscaping. We were really happy with the details within the property, for instance, water cooler, beach towels, coffee maker, locker etc. What we found most outstanding is the presence of 2 showers in the bathroom (you might find this funny but you'll find it useful after a day of scorching heat). The villa is huge, it has separate settings for Coffee, Dining, and relaxing. Almost everything is made of wood and looks beautiful. You can rent bicycles from the reception, and they make sure that you're comfortable riding it as it's the only way to travel on the island (so you might want some cushion under your Coco de Mer). The check out time in Villa is strictly 10:30 AM. We wish that we could check out a little late as our ferry was at 2:15 PM but Kit was kind enough to take care of our luggage at the reception. The island itself isn't big so everything is accessible. Overall it was...
Read moreOn the good side: ||||The villa is beautiful and the grounds are stunning||Beautiful pool, great location. Bike rental on property. They picked us up and dropped us off at the pier.||Clean, with very comfy beds.||||On the bad side:||The toilet never worked properly. You literally need to flush 3 or 4 times it more each time. We told the staff but they said there was nothing they could do.||They nickel and dime you to death with extra charges. Every other place we stayed included water, change of linen etc. Here they charged 50 SCR for every bottle of water and would not provide us with clean towels even when we asked. 10 EUROs for a 2 minute ride to the port in a golf cart. Laundry is 25 SCR per ITEM, which has got to be among the most expensive in the world!||The hotel was VERY hard to contact before booking. We wanted to add an extra night so messaged them on friday morning. They never actually got back to us - even after 3 days! We called the phone number on the property at 6 pm and were told it was after hours and they couldn't even check the reservation. And no one messaged or called us back, ever. This was very, very frustrating.||We just felt the level of service was a bit haphazard given the price, and the extra charges were the highest we paid anywhere in...
Read moreWe stayed at La Digue Holiday Villa for 3 nights while discovering the island for the first time. We loved this place; the accommodations are spacious, organized, and well-maintained. The beautiful garden and refreshing pool were highlights of our stay, especially on our last day. Our host was always available to accommodate our needs.
It's worth noting that tap payment is not available here, so ensure you have a physical card for payment. Additionally, bike rentals need to be paid in cash.
The only slightly odd feature was the windows, which have wooden shutters but no glass. If you want sunlight in the villa, you'll also have to deal with the heat.
Aside from this, we were very happy with our stay. We had great sleep; the beds and pillows are very comfortable. We also enjoyed the "his & her" double shower setup.
The location is perfect—close to the main road and shops, and less than a 15-minute walk to and from the ferry. Two big supermarkets are just a few minutes' walk away.
The kitchen is well-equipped for basic cooking and meal preparation.
Thank you...
