The Jain temple was constructed during the regime of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1699 A.D. It is located at Muglisara main road, near mausolem of Mirjan Sami. It has not only Jain religious importance but also establishes one of the best example of craftsmanship and drawing of Gujarat. Though the jain temple is marked by its outward simplicity, the inner parts of temple is a treasury of art.
During 12th century AD, there ruled a king called Kumarpal. He belonged to the Solanki dynasty and kept Acharya Hemachandraji as his advisor. The Acharya was a Jain preacher, poet and philosopher, and under the rule of Kumarpal there was overall prosperity in the kingdom. Chintamani temple is said to be constructed to honour those great people.
Chintamani Jain Temple looks very simple from the outside but surprises the visitor with its brilliant piece of creativity and skill.
