I felt like this is a lot better value than Gardens by the Bay, since it's free and very extensive. Highlights for me are the Orchid Garden and the Evolution Garden. It occupies a huge space, so I suggest you pick a gate closest to the area you want to start from, when picking the route. But there is a dedicated MRT station that takes you directly to the Bukit Timah gate. There are a few restaurants inside, and a smattering of visitor centres. Lots of places to sit and go to the toilet when needed. The visitor centres have an air conditioned shop if you want to take a break from the heat. I would recommend that you bring an umbrella and water (or a water container). Wear comfortable shoes. I don't think we were able to cover the entirety of the gardens but we still managed to clock in 13 km / 16k steps. I think you need to allot at least 5 hours to cover majority of the garden.

Picturesque and actually not crowded on a Thursday morning, despite it being publicised recently on local media, what a winner! The cafe, Bees Knees, was the only crowded part of the extension. Seems like kids will like the playground as it has swings and long slides. For those driving, the road network around this attraction is currently barricaded so I believe you’ll have to park opposite at the main Botanic Gardens. For those coming by public transport, it’ll be good to come by bus to “After Ministry of Foreign Affairs” bus stop, cross the overhead bridge to Tyersall Ave and walk all the way until you see the sign. Be cautious!! as I nearly accidentally stepped on a snake 😂 It’s a pretty forested road. I’ve heard that people find this place difficult to find, I think it’s pretty straightforward as long as you access it by Tyersall...

This park is part of the Singapore Botanical Gardens but it separated by a road. It is only several months old and not many people seem to know about it so there were no crowds which was nice. The place looks and feels new. There is an art gallery (of plants) in one of the colonial houses and an information center on Singapore's eco biodiversity with some bits of history thrown in at the other building. There is a children's playground with a short walking trail that connects everything together. Seems like a great place for families and casual walks. The landscape is slightly hilly too which makes it a good workout if that is your sort of thing.

A perfect place to get away from the busy city life in the city! Explored the Gallop Road side of the botanic garden. The ex French ambassy and the French ambassador's residence were turned into art and nature exhibition venue. It's nice to be able to walk into the mock Tudor style black & white bungalow and have a close view at the architectural. The National Orchid Garden is also one of my favourite places to visit. Just these two places took me 4 hrs. Do bring along a hat and water bottle when you visit. Weather can be hot n humid.

Gallop Extension has been a go-to location for many wedding photographers and for good reason. The unique architecture of the buildings combined with the nearby wide open spaces and lush greenery provide the perfect backdrop for any pre-wedding shoot. I find the area extremely rich in compositional potential, having a myriad of eye-catching natural elements and architectural details. Definitely keep this location in mind for your wedding shoots or any photo shoot in general.

New extension to Singapore Botanic Garden (SBG). Small carpark available at the Gallop Extension, alternatively park across in SBG and walk 700m. Entrance to the black and white bungalow is a 10 mins walk laced with sparsely garden path. A big playground meet you at the base and a long staircase up brings you to a cafe and behind the cafe is the black and white bungalow museum. Nice place to spend 1-2hrs of your time, nothing that shout out for your return again.
