I am writing this because I wanted to give a shoutout to Ashley.
It was our first visit there, and right away we hit into 2 snags, both of which she handled expertly. The first was where my phone shut down upon receiving the otp for the time zone gift cards I had. I really appreciated the way she patiently explained how to redeem the gift card, how she heard me out and understood that I needed some battery power for the otp, how she actually went out of her way to find a portable battery to lend me to get her otp and her patience during the very long it took for my phone to charge up sufficiently to be able to switch on again. The second was that my child was in school uniform - she kindly explained the rules about no school uniforms in the arcade and suggested I buy a t-shirt before we start playing instead of just kicking me out of the premises.
We had a lot of fun at the arcade. My child's favourites were the bumper car ($10, probably the most expensive in the arcade), a shooting game where the entire box shook with the ride ($4.50) and the motorcycle ride ($3). Ashley's smile and happiness when watching us on the bumper car ride, and her professionalism in running through the safety brief and height check even though it was just me and my child were something that added to our experience too.
The cheapest arcade game is about $2.60 and what I liked most about the arcade was that we can top up a small variable amount ($1.50) because that let my child played 1 more game at the arcade. Thank you Ashley for advising the new staff on this. Ashley also kindly advised on what we can redeemed with the few tickets (10+30) we had without being judging and that really made and concluded our exciting experience at the arcade on a high note.
Thank you again Ashley for enabling and enhancing our first exciting and exhilarating experience at an arcade. We will definitely come back to Timezone when we choose an arcade to...

Read moreWe headed to Timezone at VivoCity as part of a team bonding activity, and it ended up being way more fun than expected. We loaded $120 onto our card, which got us 240 credits thanks to a top-up bonus. That turned out to be a lot of playtime—and honestly, we were glad it was, because burning through those credits took a while and gave us time to try out a bunch of different games.
We started off with the bumper cars, not once but twice—mostly because they were the most expensive and we figured we’d get the “value” out of them early. But they were genuinely fun, especially with a group of colleagues all chasing and crashing into each other in pure chaos. After that, we tried out the simulator rides—both bike and car. The bike one, in particular, was surprisingly thrilling. It had just the right mix of arcade jank and adrenaline rush.
One of the unexpected highlights for us was the basketball hoops game. It got super competitive, with everyone trying to outscore each other in short bursts. It brought out the trash talk and cheerleader energy in equal parts, and it was a good way to see everyone loosen up and have fun without overthinking it.
The vibe inside the arcade is bright, energetic, and buzzing. Even though it’s inside a mall, Timezone VivoCity doesn’t feel like a tucked-away corner—it feels like a mini amusement park. There’s something here for everyone, whether you’re into retro claw machines, music rhythm games, or the newer VR setups.
Overall, it was a great mix of nostalgia and new experiences. It’s not just for kids—there’s more than enough here for adults to enjoy too. Whether you’re going with family, friends, or workmates, Timezone VivoCity is the kind of place that brings people together to play, compete, laugh, and just enjoy being...
