Anthony's Shaft Mining Museum — Attraction in Idrija

It is a great and unique experience to walk this mine that gave world like 1/8 of Hg.

Young tour guide lady🌹 answered all questions about air system, maintaining the mine, etc. But a bit in rush way. Before entering mine there is a 20 minutes video about mine and Idrija. Than you changes cloths and walk inside for a bit less than an hour.

There is a white baroque chapel of Holly Trinity inside with statue of saint Barbara.

The tube has light all the way, but it is a bit unpleasant, if there were any. So respect to all mine workers.

Unfortunatelly they don't sell Hg as they did in the past, because it is forbidden.

500 year old Mercury Mine , The guide was very informative and knew his stuff well, his English was brilliant as well. When we went there were only 2 of us, very quiet during the winter months. You are given a coat and helmet and make sure you bring sturdy shoes/ climbing boots as some of the stairs and slopes are slippery , the tour plus the film was just under 1.5 hrs long. wow. If you want to see a really unforgettable tunnel system with loads of history paired with one of the best guides in europe, this place is a must for you. We had the pleasure to stay at Veri's place with our camper (one of the guides) who is really nice and kind and we were a little sad at first, that he got the other group, but marta made the experience really fun and worthwhile and you notice that she really loves the job.
