The wine house Rondič — Attraction in Vipava

I was fortunate to have had a private tour with Matej on the 13th of July, and it was an exceptional experience. The tour included a tasting of five exquisite wines, followed by a tasting of a homemade Cognac in the delightful cellars.

Matej's deep knowledge and passion for the region shone through as he shared the rich history of the area, specifically the charming village of Slap. His insights were both educational and engaging, making the history come alive.

One of the highlights of the tour was learning about the different grape varieties used in the wines. Matej's explanations were clear and informative, providing a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in winemaking.

We chanced upon Rondič for a wine tasting on a Sunday afternoon - Matej and his wife showed up immediately even though we hadn't scheduled in advance. They treated us to a lovely set of wines and an incredible spread of food at very fair prices.

Matej is extremely knowledgeable, affable and outgoing -- he could explain the science and paint a picture of Vipava's culture and history with equal skill; we learned a great deal about local wines, climate and lifestyle from our brief stay with him.

Their farmhouse is beautiful, and the tasting room and cellar are comfortable and lovely to visit -- we really cannot recommend this place enough! An absolutely delightful stop if you are anywhere...

Absolutely amazing wine tasting experience and cellar tour with Matej. A must stop! The village of Slap near Vipava is steeped in wineyard agriculture history and the Rondic family are wine making royalty! Matej and his family lay claim to being the oldest wine making family in the region and they have some pretty impressive artifacts and a wine cellar to back it up! The food prepared by his wife was also amazing!! 10 out of 10. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Also visited the nearby Petric wineyard earlier in the day and both tours fully complimented each other. Stayed close by in Majerija homestead which is a short walk away, making this 1 of the favourite days...
