We just managed to get in for the last guided tour on a Saturday morning as they closed at 1pm. Found it a bit difficult to find entrance. All the buildings are actually part of the complex

Lots of history in Beaufort West and sad history to. The stars of course are the Barnard family, prof Chris Barnard being born there. We found his story fascinating and did not know he performed the 1st kidney transplant before the 1st heart transplant, this was never published because of the government of the time, very sad,as it was another amazing achievement

I didn’t really know too much history on Dr Christiaan Bernard so I really came out very informed. History on the life and work (with pictures) Chris on display all over including an exhibition of the family home (church) and of Beaufort West as an area!
