We were greeted at the gate by the park ranger who is there over weekends from 9am. Entrance was free of charge and the reserve consists of a handful short trails (all less than 1km). The reserve gives nice views of the Durbanville Race Course. In terms of bird life species we saw Cape Sparrow, Southern Double-Collared Sunbird, Cape Weaver, Southern Masked Weaver, African Sacred Ibis, Helmeted Guineafowl. We had a special encounter with the Southern Double-Collared Sunbird male as it responded to our bird calls and spent time close to us. You can do a thorough tour of the reserve in less than a hour. Overall the reserve is very small, lacks water resources and the picnic sites are not being maintained. Still a pleasant visit (2.5 stars)

I've lived in the area for years, but only recently managed to visit the Durbanville Nature Reserve. It's got amazing views and botanical elements to showcase. The trail is very short, and quite narrow; you need to walk in a single file. I'd recommend going quite early, as it can get very hot and dry. The picnic spots are so lovely and well shaded, with picnic tables or soft grass to sit on.

I took fotos of my car here as it is a beautiful place to be. I have been sitting here for a while because it helps me get my head around thing when i have to much on my mine even if there is no event going on at the moment. Just the environment is ablosutely amazing and really bring possitive vibes. Althought this place is better when there is events going on and they also charge nothing to little fee to attend the event. Or if you would like to you can organise your own gravel drifting event in thier parking lot after hours to add a bit more fun to your day. Horse racing is available by durbanville race track with is also amaizing and. a good way to make an extra buck on voting your favourite horse. Even if it is just to stop here and smoke a dooby with your loved one. I am here to help google express the quality and services of a few place around south africa and also know all the place to visit if you have minimum cashflow and want the maximum experience. I have been to a few places and only comment on places that attract me attention and actually bring me sentimental value on a few great places. Please like this post if you have visited and aggree to my post as it will help me to help you in the long run on any place you would like to go in cpt and surrounding areas. Thank you for reading and please go check out this location and tell me what you think. . . . . . . ...

Perhaps I went there with high expectations that's why I was disappointed. Unless you have a specific interest in wild flowers there's literally nothing else to see. We could hear some birds but we did not actually see them. My kids called it "the most boring trail ever" and I agree it was boring and uneventful and the walking trails are very short we were done in less than 20 minutes even with a 2 year old in tow. The picnic area though nice is not being maintained and we couldn't see any bins in sight and had to take our...
