The food at Kapstadt Brauhaus was good, I had the Halloumi burger which comes with an option of a side. I opted for the 2 hot veg, which was butternut and spinach and I was pleasantly surprised it came with a few onion rings. The burger itself was a beauty to behold, and the halloumi was tender to bite into with a crispy outer coating. When it came to the sides the hot veg was average but the onion rings were better. Our waitress was fairly attentive but did disappeared for periods of time so we couldn't wave her over to ask when our meals would be ready. I think it took close to 30-40 mins for the food to arrive. The atmosphere at Kaapstad brauhaus is always great and is such an aesthetically pleasing place to be with the astro turf exterior and the comfy interior booths.

Stunning place to go and have a fun night with friends and the best part is when they have a band come in and make the atmosphere even better! Also stunning crowd of people!

More like a 3.5 for me. The atmosphere is really great, nice place and a great show by the performer. Service not the best, be prepared to wait a bit for everything even well before the show starts. Dont think I have ever ate such a tiny tough piece of meat at a reastaurant. Must have had the lucky draw of poor cuts. Scale must be off too. I never send stuff back to the kitchen but wanted them to be aware that it needs improvement and quietly informed the waiter that it wasnt great. After a while the manager came and offered to replace or remove from my bill, which did not happen in the end. Would I go out of my way to visit again? not unless there is some amazing show there no. Ive been to other Kapstadt Brauhauses in Big bay, Paar and I know they can do better.

Upon walking in to the restaurant, we had to wait 5 minutes after I went to a waiter to tell them that we had booked a table for 7 people (for my boyfriend’s birthday). The waiter I spoke to, did not come back and I had to go inside the restaurant to call another waiter so we could get to our table that we had BOOKED.

When ordering drinks, our waiter did not inform us that they did not have any sprite zero. When he served our drinks, we asked for the sprite zero, only to find out that they apparently do not have stock.

After that, 45 minutes went by and my boyfriend had to call the waiter so that we can order food. When he walked inside the restaurant, 3 waiters were busy chatting and laughing at the tills. He insisted that they can send us a waiter so we can place our order.

Our “waiter” did not once come to our table to ask if we want to order something else to drink.

On the arrival of the food my boyfriend’s potato dumplings didn’t arrive.

I went inside to talk to a waiter/manager, and I had to wait +-15 minutes before being assisted, after our waiter walked passed me 3 times while I was waiting at the front desk (and ‘did not see me’).

Besides that, we were sitting outside. After I had spent +-15 minutes inside waiting for someone to assist, my food was ice cold (and I had hardly eaten anything!)

No one asked to return the food to warm it, so I guess I’ll be having my cold dinner on my own (which was supposed to be my boyfriend birthday dinner) at Kaapstadt Brauhaus Durbanville.

Eventually, my boyfriend’s potato dumplings arrived after everyone had finished eating, where he said he obviously no longer wants it because he does not have any food left nor any drink (as the waiter still hasn’t asked for another round).

Eventually, we had to ask the waiter to fetch our empty drinks, plates and to empty out ashtrays.

When the waiter arrived back at our table, he did not apologize for the unacceptable service. He just cleared the table and walked away. Nevermind asking us if we would like to have another round of drinks, desert or the bill.

As a regular customer I’m HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with this service and I will not be returning to this restaurant any time soon. Also, I do not recommend this restaurant, as it was bot a busy night and it seemed as if no one cared about...

Kapstadt Brauhaus in Durbanville is a true gem that combines the charm of traditional German hospitality with the vibrant energy of Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is inviting and full of character – rustic wooden dĂ©cor, friendly faces, and a lively vibe that makes you feel right at home.

What makes Kapstadt Brauhaus unique is the way it blends authentic German beer hall culture with a proudly local twist. The extensive beer selection is a highlight, offering everything from crisp lagers to rich, full-bodied brews, all served in traditional steins. Each pour feels like a celebration, and the staff are always ready to recommend the perfect match for your taste. For those who aren’t beer drinkers, the wine and cocktail list is equally impressive, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

The food is another standout. Their menu is hearty, generous, and full of flavour – from schnitzels and bratwurst to eisbein that melts off the bone. Every dish captures the essence of German comfort food while also appealing to South African tastes. Sharing platters are perfect for groups, and the portion sizes guarantee you’ll never leave hungry.

Beyond the drinks and food, Kapstadt Brauhaus excels at creating a festive, communal atmosphere. Long wooden tables encourage laughter, conversation, and the kind of camaraderie that makes every visit memorable. Live music and special events add to the charm, transforming a simple night out into something truly special.

In short, Kapstadt Brauhaus Durbanville is more than just a restaurant – it’s an experience. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal, a lively night with friends, or a taste of authentic German tradition in the heart of Durbanville, this is the place to be. A must-visit for locals and...

We were invited to lunch, and after googling and checking reviews, we decided to visit Kapstad Brauhaus in Durbanville. We as a group left with mixed feelings. I had ordered the PORK SCHNITZEL, which I enjoyed. The other lady ordered a SCHWEINEFLEISCH PIZZA (pulled pork, red pepper, feta and rocket) @ R164. You could hardly see the pizza for the rocket, and you had to look hard to find the pork. One gentleman had the CURRYWURST. The curry was a bit strong to his taste. Not to big an issue. The other gentleman, ordered the HAUSEWURST PLATTER @ R174. But it appears the waite waas not paying attention... While placing orders, we asked about recommendations, and also about the Eisbein, but did not order it, bearing in mind it was R218 (and we were guests). When the waiter delivered the food to the table, there was no Housewurst Platter, but a portion of Eisbein! And the waiter told us we had ordered it! Maybe he should have read our order back to us, to confirm he had it right! The place was not busy, there were only two other tables with guests when we arrived, and one more by the time we left We decided to accept the Eisbein, so as not to embarrass our host and further delay the meal. But this was nearly R50 more on the total bill. Either way, we finished our meal, and asked for coffee. THEY DO NOT SERVE COFFEE! But the waiter could offer a Dom Pedro... We declined and left. Doubt they will be seeing us again...

UPDATE: This update is long overdue... We were invited back. This time we went for supper. What a difference! Despite being busy, service was great, as was food. And...
