I used to visit here as a child. It's fantastic to see the place, or as I know it "Horwood's Farm" still open and functioning to the public today.
It's a decent area and the Edenvale community have created a wonderful monthly Sunday market at the park with food and drink on sale, vendors selling their different wares and live music. This is usually the first Sunday of each month.
The money raised at these markets is supposedly going towards restoring the farm and it does need a breath of fresh air. The four star rating goes to the above mentioned factors and just the all-round good potential the place has but physically it needs restoring.
The river that runs through is stagnant and dirty and gives a disparaging look. There is a great outdoor play area for kids but the builds need a new coat of paint and a groundskeeper or garden service of some sort would be great to rake up the falling Autumn leaves as well as possibly trim back some of the tree branches that are overhanging.
It's quite shady in some parts (literally) but this could also give the figurative shady feeling to some and discourage them from visiting again.
The public bathrooms are clean but lack toilet paper in the ladies side and the lights didn't work when I tried turning them on (I'm not sure about the Men's room)
It's the little things that count. Little changes culminate big revolutions and this place could shine even brighter with the right people...
Read moreClean and neat and slowly returning to its former glory after COVID lockdown. The park is well kept and the monthly market, on the first Sunday of each month, is a must do. The market offers great stalls and a host of foods from around the world. There is also a beer garden and live music throughout the day. Take a jersey during the winter months as it can be a little fresh. The park and market are per friendly and have clean wells serviced toilet facilities. You can picnic on the grass or at a number of tables located around the facility. During the monthly market security...
Read moreMy review is particular to the family market every first Sunday of the month. Whether you enjoy good food, music, the outdoors, supporting local businesses or just a fun day out with the family, then this is the place to be. There is plenty to keep the kids entertained, a variety of drinks and food options for everyone and a great way to interact and meet up with friends from the vale. The market items are also great whether you are looking for a gift for someone or a little something to...
