The 011 skatepark is one of the best skateparks in Johannesburg hands down. So much work has been put into the park in the last 4 years, by the community and thanks to new management, it is truly a different place. The management and staff always greets you with a smile and are friendly and always helpful. Measures in place to make the people visiting the park feel safe and protected are in place. The entrance fee of R30 is incredibly reasonable for the quality and obstacles the park provides. If you haven't seen it yet, you really should, it's well worth. The park is also open to non-skaters and those just looking to enjoy the culture. The community is friendly and will make you feel welcomed, they also have coffee, drinks and snacks and Pizzas! With ever-present jams in the air, entrance at ten bucks is neither gate-keeping nor extortion. Night sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The park caters to the 'street' style of skating with a couple of ledges, rails, banks and some premium flatground. A 6' halfpipe is in the works and should be operational in the near future.
if you're not there to ride, there are a few covered picnic benches, shaded grassy patches under the trees and a grandstand to watch from.

It gets fairly busy on Saturdays (from around 12pm) and less so on Sundays.
There are people who reside in the derelict building that adjoins the park, but from my observations they'll chase away any homeless person who may be in the way of skaters or bikers.
