Salt Rock Beach is clean and safe. There is plenty of shaded parking provided by the trees. Lifeguards are always on duty and shark nets are always visible. The beach does not have rocks in the designated swimming areas, so you are at ease knowing that if you are “dunked” the only thing you need to worry about is holding on to your costume. The beach is a blue flag beach. Very clean and of high standard. The water is on average 21 degrees at any given time. Nice to cool off in the hot summer days. There is a lot of restaurants walking distance from the beach. Life guards on duty.

The KwaZulu-Natal sun is a fierce force so remember to bring a high quality sun block spf 40 to 50.
