Swimming pool closes at 4:30 and the park closes at 5:00. Entrance for one kid and one parent is R15. It's clean safe and a very friendly environment. Everybody gets a long while respecting each other's space and time with their family. Wonderful entertainment for any and all ages. Ample parking outside with a watchful eye over your car. Responsible lifeguards on duty at the pool side, and the pool's depth would reach an average-length adult by the hip or lower-waist - kid's must at all times be accompanied by an adult! Danger of drowning is still a reality. But the pool is big, clean and very welcoming to all, with a waterslide that is well maintained and in excellent condition for thekids to enjoy - adults are welcome to cool their feet in the water around the poolside. No shade covering the pool, take sunscreen! But plenty of lovely shady trees surrounding the pool where you can camp and picnic for the whole day. Park is surrounded with security fences. Grass and lawns are trimmed and great to sit on or enjoy leasure activities like daily stretch exercises or kicking the ball around. Big variety of jungle gyms and climbing apparatuses for kids that considerably safe, adult supervision still advised. No unsavory characters (that I've ever seen) and all the kids of all ages, sizes, colours, etc get along in all locations and entertainment across the entire park. I'd say it's wheelchair friendly and there are bathrooms facilities. May our beautiful park remain safe, peaceful and clean. And thanks to the teams and staff taking care of Zita Park...
Read moreThis is my sons favourite place. Definitely a go to for families, there is plenty of space to sit down and have a picnic. I’m not too sure if you are allowed to braai but do ask the staff. Bring your own camp chairs and picnic blankets to have the good experience. A picnic umbrella is always plus especially if all the shaded areas are taken in this extreme heat.
The “toddler pool” is always clean along with the water slide. The monkey bars and other park equipment may need to be maintained as not all of them are working efficiently. I would suggest the park build another pool which can accommodate older kids, teenagers and adults I find that when it’s too full everyone wants to jump in the pool that’s meant for the young ones.
The lifeguards are visible and stay within range in case any life threatening issues arise. Alcohol is not allowed on the premises but I respect that because adults tend to get a little bit intolerant after a few drinks.
The entry price ranges from R5 - R10, I think it’s R10 for adults I’m not too sure. If you and your family want a cost effective place to have fun and relax during weekdays and weekends I would definitely recommend Zita park. I wish their working hours could be extended a bit more. My son always gets disappointed when he hears the life guards blow the whistle...

I'm editing this many months later as we had an incident happen at the park. I'd just caution parents with small kids that the playground equipment really is meant for older kids. Of course each parent knows their kid and what they're capable of, but want to caution those with younger kids! I have a 2.5 year old girl who is a strong climber and good at physical challenges. She has played on the slide there multiple times with no issues, but one day the slide was hot and when she threw her hands back to not burn them she flipped head over heels down from the top of the slide and hit her head on the ground and had to have brain surgery to fix internal bleeding. This, of course, was an exception and not the rule for her (and many other kids!)! I've had friends with a similarly aged kid have a similar fall from the same slide. So just a word of...
