Scarborough Beach — Attraction in Western Cape

Scarborough Beach is breathtaking! Not only does the wind take you breath away🤭😂, but so does the white sandy beach and aqua colour water. It's just so beautiful! If you are a wind surfer, this stretch of beach will be perfect for you...so too for a wedding ceremony, depending if the wind will take a break. Either way, make your way down there. You will enjoy it. Just be mindful when driving. The baboons in the area does cross the road randomly as a family "troop." I happened to come across a baboon yesterday that was seemingly knocked over in the road, and the little ones were frantic, as were the older ones. Such a lovely, secluded, white sandy beach! Definitely not the biggest beach to be seen but it is great for a sit down or short stroll. Those new to the realm of surfing like to come here as there are not many disturbances to be had as it is a quieter beach. Dog friendly as well which is a bonus for a lot of people! Be warned that due to the kelp that washes up and the smaller surface area, the beach can tend to have a slight odour but more so towards the end of the beach on the left by the rocks; if you stay clear of that side you shouldn't be too bothered by this. There are also beautiful shells to be found if this is your kind of thing - just watch out for sand fleas/lice around the kelp and rocks where you often...

This is a splendid beach for long walks and great views of the ocean. By and largely unspoiled so please help keep it clean.

The parking is free but can be a bit challenging when it gets busy and during season so please bear that in mind when heading out there.

This is a dog friendly beach, if you are going to walk your best friend please remember to bring poop baggies

The water is pretty chilly for those wanting to swim/surf Bring your own shade if you're planning on a picnic or similar, just be aware that it can get really windy at times.
