Really bad service for visitors with medical conditions…this happened me Tuesday 13Aug2024 2pm. Wanted to visit the aquarium but my wife changed her mind last minute as she wants to arrive early to the train station… I have a medical condition to contain my biological needs (prostate hyperplasia) and can’t contain my urine flow. So, asked the ticket man at the entrance for toilets as emergency and the ticket person refused me to go to the nearest toilets (ie just 4meters from the ticket entrance) suggesting me to buy a ticket or to go to the toilets 400mts away… so I walked 300mts with that big emergency and never found any signs of toilets (started peeing myself).. So came back again with bigger emergency and begged him to go to the toilets for God’s sake …..He refused me again as I have to buy tickets, otherwise he will be charged ….but I just need to go to toilets as big enormous emergency. He still refused me even though I gave him my phone and wallet and begged again to go to the toilets…. He said that I will be charged if I go….After 6min with this emergency (I partly peed myself again on my pants) I finally could go…. When leaving the toilets he called me again to disturb me more that I had to buy a ticket to enter to the toilets ….in my whole life I never ever experience such aggressive behaviour to a visitor in need for emergency due to medical conditions…..really traumatic bad experience I love Spain a lot and visited more than 10 times in every corner of Spain 🇪🇸 but please 🙏 if Spain wants to attract more visitors, it is paramount treating them fairly…. Even more those with special...

The place has potential but it looks desolate and missing caring. The staff does NOT have any idea of service, including the managers who refused to hear a complaint of abuse by employees. Restaurant and admission are expensive gift shop absurd, have no access to a pushchair, and have nothing translated into other European languages, everything is in Spanish.

The woman at the ticket counter clearly has a problem with selling tickets at a discount rate for non Spanish visitors. She refused my state employed teacher card which gives access to museums on the pretext that although it clearly stated that it was issued by the Education Nationale in France, that it didn't have the word 'docente', Spanish for 'teacher' written on it. When I offered to show her a wage slip on which the word 'teacher' was clearly marked, she changed tack and said that I had to have a paper issued by my headteacher!!! She wouldn't accept that my wife was unemployed despite documentation stating that she was unemployed, she declared that my wife had to be unemployed in Spain!!! Finally she refused to accept that my son was a student despite a document showing that he is enrolled at a university in the Netherlands. She singlehandedly overruled the European Union's legislation on equal treatment of EU nationals across the EU zone. We refused to bow to her discrimanatory bullying and left the aquarium. Shame on you for your petty minded discrimination!!! A Coruna deserves better ambassadors than you, it's time to step down and...

It's worth a visit. It is quite educational for marine biology and oceanography. I suggest you take the information pamphlet which is easy to miss , before you enter. Because once you enter the centre, you are on your own. Also all the information is only in Spanish. There are various sections like big aquariums with a variety of fish on display, everything related to the oceans for examples types of sands, types of water , corals etc. There are some interactive games for kids. Wikipedia says there is a space dedicated to octopus, however there is one display with 2-3 octopuses in it. Another thing is a submarine display where you can see the shark. That was interesting. Another thing is a pond where they feed the seals. Carry your umbrella because if it's raining, you can still go out and see the show. There is restaurant inside, where you can have food coffee etc. Overall it was a good experience.

Worth planning around the seal feeding time at 12:00 and 17:00 with spanish narration. If you miss it they are still fun to watch. They are outdoors, so bring an umbrella in case it rains. Nearly missed the 360degree underground tank Nautilus where there are numerous fish and a shark swimming around (the water doesn’t look too deep so feel a bit sorry for the shark). There’s not enough signage inside. Map not very detailed either. Just make sure you cover the outdoor, indoor plus the underground areas. The ‘pats pond’ depicted on the map doesn’t exist anymore, replaced by a model ship driving area. No English just spanish and gallego explanations but it might be good for me saving time from reading everything. Some people might find it a bit expensive at €10 entrance fee for a medium sized aquarium, but it’s got a variety of tanks to spend a good 2hrs (or more).

Visited as part of a tour, some excellent parts, but also disappointing in the main. Firstly the positives. Great access and toilets on site. It’s only 10 Euros each to get in. Seal feeding at midday is great, you can get really close to these beautiful creatures. The site is entirely In Spanish, not surprising given it’s in Spain, however most such sites now around the globe have signs to accommodate most. The do have a QR code to English texts, but they can be hard to find in the dark. Additionally there is no suggested route around, and you don’t get an idea of what’s there unless you keep looking, it would be really easy to miss a room. We spoke to a staff member who spoke English and she said we had seen everything, that was apart from the massive room behind her and the tanks in there …. It could be so much more, it’s a shame for visitors.
