We stumbled upon this gem of a beach in A Coruña purely by chance! It was a scorching day last June when we decided to take a drive from Santiago de Compostela to the coast.
Luckily, finding parking was a breeze, thanks to a vast underground parking area stretching for kilometres beneath the maritime promenade. Once we got settled, we discovered that there are two main beaches, Orzan and Riazor.
Our wanderings eventually led us to Orzán, after we had taken a leisurely stroll all the way to the Lighthouse of Hercules, which happens to be the oldest Roman lighthouse still in use. Quite a sight to behold!
The beach itself was a true delight. Immaculately clean and teeming with friendly locals going about their own business. We felt completely at ease and welcomed by the relaxed atmosphere. Our visit coincided with the Vesper of Saint John, a special day when a massive festival comes alive on the beach. The electric vibe and lively festivities added an extra dose of excitement to our experience.
I genuinely hope I get the chance to revisit this beautiful beach someday. It left such a lasting impression on us, and I can't wait to relive those...

I have a broken ankle, so I wasn't swimming, but lots of people were, and they really seemed to be...
