Gasthof - Orzán — Restaurant in A Coruña

How on earth do they manage to serve the world’s worst food??? It was all wrong, the soup (caldo gallego) was cold, it was hard to get the waiters attention, finally they microwaved it… Still bad, I got the Caesar salad and I had never ever not liked a salad in my life… Don’t waste your money and ruin a meal here… Absolutely not worth it… As to the response from the restaurant, you can be in business for centuries and still have high’s and low’s I definitely caught you on your lowest, and no, your servers are not committed to the service, it took me quite a while to get the attention of the waiter and the restaurant had barely a few tables, so no, there is a lot of room for improvement here, there is incredible potential due to your location but you have decided to...

I had the “desayuno ingleis” or English breakfast, which mercifully was not an actual English breakfast with the beans and greasy tomato and the like (with apologies to my British and Irish friends!). This was more like an American bacon and eggs breakfast — and both were good. Better quality eggs and bacon than we get in the US, but hey, that’s Europe right?

This place appears to be a chain and it’s obviously nothing to write home about. But I gave it 4 stars because in the end it was a decent breakfast reminiscent of home, which today was what I was in the mood for after 2 weeks walking the Camino...

There are many other Gathofs around the city which make the tortilla WAY better than here. It has a wierd after taste and the potato is not rightly cooked.

The service is a little off putting as you are supposed to sit where they tell you (which I believe is due to having it cleaned) and clean the table yourself with bits of food on it.
