Dieses Zentrum für prähistorische Zeitgeschichte liegt außerhalb des historischen Stadtkerns; aufmerksam wurde ich eher zufällig darauf durch Mitarbeiterin im lokalen Museum (bessere Werbung/Bekanntmachung?). Nach Besuch von Höhlen in Aquitanien (F) und Lektüre zu prähistorischen Kunst dieser Epoche kann der Besuch von Maltravieso als Einstieg in dieses Thema sehr empfohlen werden, da meiner Meinung nach didaktisch gut präsentiert. Die Höhle ist offenbar nicht zu besichtigen, im Zentrum wurde eine Kammer nachgebaut, so daß ein guter Eindruck mitgenommen werden kann. Eintritt für EU-Bürger kostenlos, Broschüre in...

Ha sido un placer y todo un honor visitar una de la cuevas habitadas por el hombre de Neandertal, más antiguas de Europa (66.700 años) y más teniendo en cuenta que sólo la pueden visitar 5 personas a la semana. El personal del centro de interpretación, tanto el de fuera, como el espeleólogo que constantemente nos acompañaba en el interior, se portaron genial con nosotros. Enfin, me siento muy orgulloso de que mi ciudad, disponga de algo tan genuino y único para quien desee iniciar un precioso viaje por la historia de Cáceres desde sus orígenes hasta la actualidad.
