What a beautiful place! An absolute must-visit on your visit to Córdoba. Personally, I enjoyed it even better than the Mezquita and all the cathedrals and churches I visited. This place has a sense of peace, and connection to nature I truly loved. I came towards their closing hour, so there was no need to purchase a ticket ahead of time and no waiting time. I don’t know how it is at other times of the day, however. There was also very few people, I saw 4 other visitors, besides myself, which was a very welcome sight after the half-hour long lines I experienced at some other local monuments. I’ve never seen a green fence made of citrus trees before, but there is one here, there’s quite a few historial artifacts displayed inside, besides the beautiful patios with fountains and gardens. There must be hundreds of types of plants inside. The smells are lovely, and especially the jasmine flowers, which are my absolute favorites. Really recommend this place!!

The Palacio de Viana is an absolute must-visit landmark in Córdoba. Its inside is is immaculately conserved, with a great deal of restaurative work. It is 8€ to visit either the Palacio or the patios, but I recommend getting the combined ticket of 12€ for both. I highly recommend getting a guided tour if you understand a bit of spanish (you may book it at the website). The Palace is really a voyage around Europe from the XVI century all the way to the XIX century, with art pieces, craftsmanship, and furniture from Spain, Italy, France, England, and Portugal. Each room is truly an untouched snapshot of a particular time. You may not take pictures inside of the Palacio, to preserve the delicate pieces. Although we visited the Palacio during the scorching summer, the patios were stunning and really well cared for. These will probably look quite different according to season 😁

Viana Palace is a palace-museum in the city of Córdoba ( Spain ), located in the Santa Marina neighborhood . On March 27, 1981, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Monument category. The palace was built in the 15th century and has been expanded over the centuries. Its name comes from the Marquisate of Viana , the last family that owned the property. In 1981, after being acquired by the CajaSur Foundation , it was opened to the public for the first time with its twelve patios, the garden and the interior of the palace, which would make about 6,500 square meters. In 2019 it received more than 193,000 visitors, being one of the most touristic cultural spaces in Córdoba.

Gorgeous patios. You can spend a few hours wandering around. Lots of shade and areas to sit and relax. Mostly wheelchair accessible. Some of the ponds/fountains could use a cleaning, but aside from that it was beautiful! Check website before going to ensure you have enough time to visit - they sometimes close early such as on Mondays. If you want to go inside the palace rooms, it is recommended to get a reservation online beforehand as they get booked fast. However, if you only want to see the patios, you probably won't need a reservation, at least during the off season.

A worthwhile visit if you are in Cordoba. I liked the patios very much where you are free to wander. If you want to see the house then you have to join a tour group which is only in Spanish (although you get an English leaflet). Better for me would have been to walk freely around the house at my own pace......and to be allowed to take photos......I agree flash photography should be banned, but many modern cameras / phones have low light features. So 5 stars for the patios and 3 stars for the house....an average of 4.
