This was the first museum I've been to since the covid-19 lockdown. I have to say that wearing a mask and listening to a guide also wearing a mask is a frustrating experience although this criticism can't be attributed to the museum. What I can state is that the museum fulfilled its obligations to provide a safe public space for its visitors.

I never knew the extensive process involved in making paper in the past. The guide explained and demonstrated steps from the moment the disused clothes arrived (because this mill used old clothing to create its paper!), to the final bundling of the sheets ready for distribution.

The museum itself has a lot of the old machinery intact and some of it is still operative. In fact the highlight of the visit was hearing the noise from machines in operation!

This may not be the most interesting of museums for many people, but if you have an interest in the industrial past of this region, the paper museum of Capellades goes some way in provide useful information.
