Really wonderful! :-) The drive to Sa Calobra is both dizzying and exciting at the same time because of the hairpin bends and the mountain top that man has to overcome on the way! But the reward at the end is worth it: Turquoise-blue water in all shades of color dotted with white boats and small yachts, lined with high, green-covered rocks! Just wow! If you make it through the small tunnel through the rocks to the beach, then you have to smile a little... because near the water the people lie peacefully close to each other and give the impression of a sea lion colony! There is only one thing: Escape into the blue water! :-) Water lovers have a clear advantage here! You can also scroll down the steep cliffs from the water... and you can swim very far out, since many boats are anchored here and if you are exhausted, you could swim to them... :-) Towards the evening the colony of sea lions thins out and You can also lie very nicely on the pebble beach and let your legs hang in the water... Just beautiful!... You can easily spend a whole afternoon until the evening there. I wanted to go to a live music bar in Pollencia in the evening, which I regret a little afterwards, because a second lap in the sea and the sunset in Sa Calobra with nice people on the beach would certainly have been very nice.... :- ) ....this visit is definitely worthwhile and puts a smile on many...
Read moreIt was in early September when it wasn’t so hot outside that we visited Sa Calobra is a perfect place for long walks or a hike. You can stop and enjoy some of the most beautiful views in Mallorca. I highly recommend Sa Calobra roads may be a little bit tricky , so would advise to go slowly and be careful of wild animals. This curvy road is highly recommend for cyclists as views are incredible. Sa Calobra is as much a part of the day’s adventure as the beach itself so you have to try ! It’s about an hour long winding way but magical scenery. Make sure you bring your camera with you - you can go by the way of the restaurant which is almost on the top of the mountain ( very nice food ) with a view on the sea. Beach between steep rocky cliffs is stunning you must see it as well ! The beaches here are rocky but the water is clean colorful and beautiful. You can get to Sa Calobra by boat ( but we’ had a group of us so chose to rent a small tour bus to take us. It sopped at all the viewing points along the way. Promise - go there you won’t be regretting! If you enjoy cycling or want an adventure it is definitely another grate way to see Sa Calobra and get a workout at the same time with all it’s climbing but cyclists usually pass cars in my experience. The views by bike...
Read moreVery beautiful beach surrounded by rocks and animals and lots of amenities (markets, restaurants and showers) but the beach itself is really small, unless you are OK to stay a bit behind where you have a rather big place, enough to have your own space. However if you want to be close to the beach it can be really crowded, and you have lots of jellyfish in the sea. Note that you have to walk for about 15mins to get there from the parking spot for which we paid around 6€ for 1,5 hours. It’s worth to see for sure, you have to walk through two tunnels (which is itself rather impressive) until you get to the spot but I don’t recommend it if you plan to stay and chill for an entire day. Tldr; if you are around tramuntana you should definitely have a break there but I don’t think it’s the best place to spend the entire day since too busy, small and with jellyfish. That being said, even the drive to get there is enough to be impressed by going through...
