The trip out here was perfect, and I would come back, but without a car or tour bus, it might be tough to get to. I am not sure if you can take the bus up here as this vineyard, Bodega Los Lirios is located at the Bandama Volcano just south of Las Palmas and coming from Maspalomas it was a trip worth it.
This is a family-owned vineyard and it has been there for generations that does tapas and they produce white wine and red wine. Lucky us as on our tour we were told that the vineyard only produces 300 bottles of white wine a year. And we were lucky enough to have one. I did end up loving the variety of red wines they had for quite cheap too for a glass (worth the price for a bottle as well). We had probably every dish they offer there as it was part of a tour deal we had. A few of their dishes were tasty, the ones that I did not like was cold fish, wish in general I am not a fan of. I did try it, was worth the experience and am happy to try. But would probably stick to their stews, potatoes mojo sauce.
Not only lots of food and tasty local wine but also, we were so lucky to have these great artists playing which created a fantastic atmosphere. They made the afternoon great as they sang great, took a few song requests and just in general were so positive and fun. It did help that the lead singer was half Welsh, so she was able to sing in both Spanish and English which was nice. However, the vineyard venue has a different artist there each week, I think.
Moving on to the venue is an open space venue that serves great foods and lots of tasty red wines. If you drink the wine there you must have the “abecado” or Llantén Tinto Crianza 2018 and have to order a few of their delicious tapas. Most of their meals are meat-based so it might not be the best place to eat for vegans. Even without going on a tour, you can go and look at the vineyard but of course, don’t go picking up grapes if they are in season. The staff here were kind and friendly.
There is also a parking space there if you want to drive up. Also, other local businesses are outside so you can buy more than just wine there.
Check out their website for more things you can do at their venue such as a photoshoot, picnic, meal and wine...
Read moreAt my grandmothers 80th birthday we went to Bodega Los Lirios and did the tour and tasting with the wonderful Carlotta. Carlotta was a nice guide and we got many information about the winemaking at the canary’s and what made it so special. After the short tour through the vineyard we got to taste the red wine and a plate of cheese, absolute fantastic mojo (grandmas recipe) and olives. We definitely can recommend a visit...
