It's sort of a café-restaurant, mainly catering to visitors coming to hike around the impressive crater, or merely to admire the views. It's rather small, although there's an upstairs room if the need arises. There are two or three tables inside the restaurant, but the main seating area is in a covered terrace. There are a couple of tables afresco, but are often not used due to the weather conditions.
Service is excellent. There are also a small selection of cakes but if you're having tea, remember this isn't tea country. They'll probably serve you a cupful of hot water, with a teabag on the side. Just ask for another cup, so you can bring the water to the tea instead of the other way around.
Food is fine. I wouldn't shout loudly about it though. We tried quite a few dishes: Tabla de quesos (cheese platter - they ran out of cheese, so we only had one kind), Langostinos crujientes (prawn fritters served with sweet and sour sauce, no doubt from an Asian supermarket), saquitos de morcilla (blood sausage fritters - a bit too dry), croquetas (the croquettes were probably the best dish), and huevos estrellados (eggs, chips, cured ham and chistorra sausage - tasty buy swimming in the oil from the chistorra). There wasn't a wide selection, and perhaps our selection wasn't ideal - too many fries...
Price-quality-wise, I'd say it's somewhat expensive, probably due to the lack of competition. There is just one restaurant, right next to it, and there are a couple more in the immediate viciny, but both were closed for this...

This place is located right next to a must-see location on Gran Canaria, "Caldera de Bandama" (an inactive volcanic mountain), and it was quite busy when we got there, rightfully so. The server was incredibly nice, aiding our selection by suggesting our initial order was a lot. She also told us about the local wine "Caldera". Unfortunately the winery around the corner was closed, so we went back to the restaurant to pick up a bottle.
We ordered the cheese plate- which came with a sweet tomato jam + peanuts, a variety of breads and some super delicious cheese- and the Garbanzada, a chickpea soup with chorizo. So delicious! Definitely...
Read more++ We would have been happy if any one of these criteria quality/taste/portion matches with the prices. We have been to restaurants across this island so we have an idea of the dishes and price levels…
Came here for the good reviews, unfortunately a very touristic place… 9.9€ for 6 small pieces of fried shrimps, whose black veins were even not removed… prices were increased but quality didn’t follow. Sangria tasted more like water, not much alcohol was in. Service is good but we regretted for our visit, as we drove from somewhere else to here and expected...
