Paseo de la Condesa — Attraction in León

A lovely walk in a park from Plaza Guzman to Plaza de San Marcos.

There are 3 levels: at street level you walk under trees (mainly conquer trees) and there are flowers planted too. Lovely cool in the shade on a hot summers day, there are some water fountains to quench your thirst and benches to rest. Mind the bird poo though.

The middle level which is a 'dirt' path can be reached by stairs or one of two ramps (good for buggies) and there is a lot of well kept grass. You find cyclists, people walking, kids and dogs. There a a number of playground items dotted along the way: swings, a slide and house and towards the other and a wibbly sort of thing.

And the lowest level is along river Bernesga where you can actually see small and big fish - just let your eyes rest on the river for some time. Cyclistst and joggers/ walkers have different lanes.

You can cross the river via the bridge at Plaza Guzman, via a pedestrian bridge in the middle of la Condesa from street level, via another pedestrian bridge at river level near the end or the beautiful old bridge when you reach Plaza San Marcos which will lead you near...

The Paseo de la Condesa is one of Leon’s hidden gems. It consists of a large walkway lined with benches to sit down to admire the green space full of grass, plants and trees. There is also a cycling lane and another walkway closer to the river. Most times of day or night locals can be found strolling along the path or running or biking on it. It is a wonderful use of land next to the river and encourages locals and visitors alike to come out and enjoy nature....

El paseo en si, está muy bien y en época de calor, es una paseo formidable por la sombra que dan los árboles. Algo que irrumpe la posible tranquilidad que hay en el paseo son los contorsionistas que, con ritmos y sonidos de algo que dicen es música bloquea los oídos de los paseantes utilizando el Templete de las músicas de este paseo. Creo que el ocio de dos o tres jóvenes contorsionistas o gimnastas no debe prevalecer sobre los cientos de leoneses que utilizamos el paseo para disfrutar en paz de la zona. A parte de esto y como ocurre en TODAS las aceras de León, hay infinidad de baldosas levantadas que pueden hacer que tengas un accidente por tropiezos. Espero que algún día, haya un alcalde que se ocupe de esto en lugar de gastar millones de euros en estructuras o obras de dudosa utilidad. Creo que lo primero...
