We arrived after a long and tiring trip and was met with a question of upgrading our room. We asked to see our original room and went up and discovered a much better view and a bigger outdoor area. After upgrading, which we soon regretted, we discovered that the air condition was immensely loud, even on the lowest setting, and the fan in the bedroom sounded like an aeroplane. Went for a shower and the shower was broken. Disheartened by these clear flaws we asked to be downgraded the following day. We had to pay extra for one night stay, and we agreed willingly. The caretaker came to fix the shower as we were packing our suitcases and left with the shower hose. Almost worth upgrading. Please, don't upsell when guests are arriving, Serenity. We went to the hotel shop and met the person who upgraded us. Now, we were stonewalled and we felt it highly uncomfortable. I thought she might be disappointed after losing commision on the upgrade, but please don't punish your newly arrived guests, Serenity. We have never experienced anything like this. We realized that taxis were the only solution to get anywhere from the hotel. There are shuttle bus services on nearby hotels. The flowers on the wall outside were not being taken care of and weed had grown there. Please, remove such things rather than having that on the walls, Serenity. The beds are hard, as people have mentioned, but got better when we asked for extra padding. Cleaning staff were always helpful. We tipped them and received better towels. If we didn't the towels got downgraded. Strange, but understandable. After long excursions we were glad to see tv-channels from our country, but, sadly it fell out constantly which was mostly annoying. Please, fix your service, Serenity, it fell out every time we tried to watch some news. The outside bar sells drinks and microwave warmed food. We went to order something but the staff weren't there. They were on the inside doing something else. They eventually arrived and the food was not recommendable. We ordered some spa treatments that were announced on the hotels website. The hotel does not have it's own spa per se, there is a woman who arrives from 1600 hours if you order 24 hours in advance. The prices that are next to the store are not followed when ordering. I realized that quickly. Website states that massages are given in a wooden cabin in the garden with surrounding waterfalls that separate the rooms. Please, give the right info online and make things clearer, Serenity. There were more children and locals in the weekends in the pool area, even though our room was close the the pool it didn't bother us at all. We saw the children enjoyed themselves and that is the most important thing. We expected a lot more from a four star hotel and were disappointed that things seem to not be taken care of. The small details that seem to slip by give witness of a hotel that's seen better days. We did not meet all the happy faces we read about before arriving. The reception was often unattended leaving us waiting for quite a while. It felt like Serenity almost got it right, but only almost. We felt the hotel was not worth the price we paid for it. We didn't feel warmly welcomed. We felt a bit like we were in the middle of nowhere having to sort out all the details that could have been there from the start. When we checked out we were met with a thank you when delivering our room cards. There were no one else there and we have never experienced not being asked about our stay or at least someone telling us goodbye or hope to see you again. Our stay could've easily had been a much better one, it was an almost all the way. Even the hotel sign almost works. We feel the responsibility lies with the people in charge of this hotel and not the staff. We...
Read morethe room looks stunning with indirect light, beautiful bathroom and modern kitchen the kitchen is well equipped our cleaning lady was so kind and did a really good job (I‘m allergic to dust and that’s often a problem in hotels. Here, I didn’t have any issue.) the receptionist is really kind and recommended us nice food and drink spots When we arrived there was no toilet paper in our room. There is a what’s app number from the receptionist and you can text at any time. She was upstairs with some toilet paper in minutes after texting. On the first evening we realized our balcony door is broken and doesn’t close properly. Unfortunately, it was after 10pm and no one was at the reception. In this case there is a phone number you can call. The caretaker was there in under 10 minutes and fixed it. The hotel had issues with the hot water (Something broke and the missing part to fix it needed time to get to the island). Things like this can happen but the way they handled it was so kind. They had great empathy for the guests and made sure to fix it quickly.
the WiFi is good if you are connected, but often it doesn’t connect Our balcony was on level 1 and facing the pool. Therefore, everyone being at the pool could see us having breakfast on our balcony. There is a service to deliver bread to your front door in the morning. One morning there was no bread and I had to take care of it myself. We were here for our honeymoon. I know that many hotels do something special for that occasion. Here, they congratulated us upon arrival but nothing else. There is supposed to be a heated pool but the pool is...
Read moreWonderful weeks stay here in June. After reading the reviews we decided on the Top Floor Premium apartment and we were not disappointed. Whilst I imagine they are all well decorated it was the view, privacy and size of the terrace made it worth it, for us.||The apartment complex is very clean, and the pool area very relaxed. As we left, the hotel became full and the pool bar had just opened so sun loungers were harder to come by but I imagine this fluctuates as people are likely to go off for day trips. The on-site shop was very useful, selling a host of goods (we tended to use it for quick bits but went to the Hyper Dino in Puerto Rico Mall for our ‘main’ shop) and the early morning croissants were delicious! ||The location is at the top of the a steep hill (several of Gran Canaria’s reports are perched in and around steep valleys) so not hugely walkable in the searing heat. Taxis however can be ordered at reception, arrive in minutes and single trips cost approx €4 to the beach, €10 to Puerto Rico and €20 to Mogan (very cute with some lovely restaurants; worth the trip). ||What makes these apartments stand out however is the customer service. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and always happy to help. On day 5 we found that our hire car had a flat battery and Anastasia was so great at helping us out; I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her. There was a lot of back and forth with the local hire site and the breakdown service and she was happy to handle all the calls which was so helpful as neither of us spoke Spanish.||Thank you Serenity for a...
