Fuerteventura Gran Karting — Attraction in Puerto del Rosario

My wife and son and I went there last year after two laps my son crashed into the tyre barrier as his car would not stop no matter how much he pressed down on the brakes. Only the mechanic came out to see if he was alright. We had to get a taxi to the local hospital where we found out that he'd fractured his spine. He was airlifted to gran canaria to get specialist care. I had to follow by plane later we spent 9 days there and luckily found out that there was no nerve damage. He was in a support corcet for the next 5 months where he was totally reliant on us. I was just looking this place up to see if it was still open and I'm so disappointed it still is. They don't even have seat belts on the cars which I stupidly thought was because they didn't drive too fast. My son was 13 at the time. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone it should be shut down. Our incident happened on the second day of a two week holiday . A complete nightmare. ..but we were lucky.....oh. and by the way check out your travel insurance if you do decide to try this out. AS YOU'RE...

We are English tourists on holiday. We had a fantastic afternoon here go karting!. You can just walk in, no need to book. We did 20 minutes. 10 mins, break then another 10 mins. In between our sessions we got to watch the pro karts which was incredible! You could even just go to watch if that's your bag. They sell drinks (not sure about food) sort drinks and beer. I nice shaded outdoor veranda to spectate. The chaps who run the karts are lovely, super friendly and cheerful. Print-out with lap times when you are done. It was 22€ for 10 mins, 44€ for 20 mins. Adult prices. Not sure about kids. Me, husband and 2 teenage girls had a fantastic time. Long excellent track, good surface, good fast karts. Our fastest time was 1min 7secs. The board on the wall said the lap record is 0.98 is a pro kart! Recommend to anyone who enjoys...

The track is good with fast sections and tight corners. Paid 40 euros for half an hour. Went as a two some and was ok to start but then my kart had no acceleration at all. Another kart was not offered. The other persons kart when he came to stop on last lap had no brakes and accelerated by itself. He had to drive into the tyre wall to stop it! this caused brusing to his back and was very sore. The kart operator didn't have a clue and said the mechanic had been off for 4 days. Other people on track had problems with fuelling and non start issues. Surely the venue should not have been using karts that weren't safe or been checked or repaired for days. Very disappointed and will not be back. Would advise to...
