I originally booked through email , nearly a month before my visit . I stated i was a solo golfer and would like to play with someone. They took my nationality and handicap and said this would be no problem so i booked two rounds. When we arrived me and my wife hired a car , we drove to the golf club to confirm everything. We was greeted by a miserable female . She checked my times and confirmed id be playing on my own . I explained again that i didnt want to play on my own . So she moved me into a two ball one day but said id be on my own the second day. She had an attitude problem and my wife who was with me cancelled the second days golf. When it finally came to the round i arrived 60 min early for some range time. The pro was a male this time who was helpful although when i asked if i was playing with people he said yes but if you wabt you can go now on your own. I said im ok il go the range and go on my time. When my time came i was ignoured on the tee by a couple. After pushing the subject they said they wanted to play on there own. So they hacked it off the tea and left me to wait behind. I went to the pro shop and got a full refund. But it was just annoying having the mess around. I have played the other course beforehand and the staff and course is fantastic. They got me involved in a society and were more than helpful. So i have booked extra rounds there now and would advise people to do the same. Heard it is short and...
Read moreLet’s start with the positives, the club house, restaurant and pro shop are beautiful. The club hire is decent with Taylormade Sim 2 Clubs.
Now unfortunately the negatives, the course is in average condition at best. They are obviously trying exceptionally hard to keep the course in a decent condition; the greens are probably the best part. However the tee boxes, fairway, rough and the rest of the course are in poor condition and definitely not worth the green fee they are charging.
The fairway bunkers clearly haven’t been given any attention in years, as can be seen in the photos.
There’s supposed to be water to play over on one hole and there’s no water in it.
It’s challenging enough, as just off the fairway is rocks the whole way around the course - so even the slightest mishit is punished by a ball hitting a rock and flying anywhere, so if you’re a higher handicapper bring a lot of balls, especially if it’s a windy day.
The layout of the course is nice, so if they could just put more time and attention into the overall condition it would be a lovely spot but it’s going to take a very long time to get there.
If you’re thinking of coming to Lanzarote specifically for golf, don’t bother - this is supposed to be the best course on the island and it’s...
Read moreIf you want to play golf in Lanzarote then accept it for what it is. It’s overpriced at €240 Euros for two people, it does include club hire and buggies. The course is in pretty poor condition, especially the greens and as an experienced golfer abroad this has been the worst I’ve come across. Having done France (Le Touquet), Spain (La Manga and Malaga) and BEST BY FAR Portugal where I have been for the past 12 years (Villamoura location) the Lazarote course is just “ok” if you want to say you’ve played there. You should always leave a course saying “I want to go back there” …. You won’t get that here unfortunately By all means, try it for yourself you may have a different view. But if you want quality golf, Portugal should be your next...
