We ventured to El Rancho for the day in March and overall we were all pleasantly surprised!
Food choices were limited due to it being low season and this was the only place open but it did not disappoint! When we arrived at the entrance, we were given a super warm welcome and given the choice of fast food counter or the resturant. With a toddler and others in tow we decided to sit down in the resturant. The staff confirmed it was the same food on each side. 100% would choose the resturant side again. The chance to sit down and have a comfy chair, cutlery, no rush and air con! Awesome
The menu is very extensive, it took us all around 5 mins to decide. There wasn’t many people eating when we arrived as we decided to go during a show but it soon filled up. The food was so fast! Piping hot and really nice quality. Drinks were served very promptly and were ice cold which was great as we were hot and parched lol the soft drinks were in normal soda bottles which meant we could take them with us afterwards if we didn’t finish them which was great as saves us a bit of money.
The variety of things to eat and the price was very impressive. I was craving some salad / veg and went with the El plato de Granjero and it was lovely. Chicken was like lava (temp wise) when it arrived and the chips were just the right level of crispy. Salad had a really nice dressing on it too.
There are toilets here too which is ideal especially with a toddler who can’t decide when they need to go lol and the servers are really friendly. The theming is in keeping with the park and we really...
Read moreDramatically poor food. We ordered a chicken burger with fries and garlic shrimp. We were in a hurry, so I asked how long we would have to wait for the order. The response, "5 minutes," should have raised a red flag, but we were hungry and pressed for time. The dishes arrived almost instantly. It was obvious they weren’t freshly prepared on-site but reheated. The burger was mediocre and served with fries that were most likely from frozen.
The shrimp came in an extremely hot dish, but the shrimp themselves were barely warm (that alone should have been a reason to leave, but hunger prevailed). The result of those shrimp was food poisoning and a ruined evening.
If the food isn’t prepared on-site, the place should not call itself a restaurant. We ordered à la carte, not from a fast-food buffet. Very...
Read moreAll theme parks/attractions should take a leaf out of the Wild Horse’s book. Surprisingly good food at half the price you would normally have to pay as a captive audience. The servers were, however, rushed off their feet, so either accept you’ll be waiting a while to pay your bill or simply order at the fast food window and...
