This place was recommended to us over the water park in Costa Teguise. We were massively disappointed. When we arrived we had booked online so bypassed the queue which wasn't huge to be fair. You're immediately thrown into the locker/changing room area where the lockers are electric. We paid the 10€ for a large locker and the screen gave us a locker number but no pin number. After approaching a member of staff and explaining she put an "out of order" sign on the screen for the lockers and told us to wait 10 mins for another member of staff that she had called for us who could help. We waited 15 minutes and nobody came. During this time almost everyone who hadn't paid online had entered and passed us. We then found the member of staff we needed to see just standing around aimlessly, they did correct the issue with the locker. Although the zoo is well themed, there isn't a huge array of animals to see. The dolphin show was the shortest and least interesting we've seen in the canary islands. This was a recurring feeling throughout including the sea lion show and parrot show. The bird of prey show saved the zoo experience as there were a good selection of birds, and most of them were comically misbehaved throughout. None of the vendors we tried to use worked and there was a general sense of frustration from everyone due to this. Having to walk back to the shop of restaurant to get a drink when you're half way round the zoo isn't optimal. The waterpark area is small. The main pool isnt the largest, and only has one waterfall in terms of theming and extras. It's also unheated saltwater. The childrens pool area is good with some tiny slides and fun areas. There are plenty of sunbeds, but they're the cheap unsturdy ones. More than enough lifeguards. The restaurant wasn't cheap but definitely wasn't expensive in comparison to some other places in the canaries. Reasonable pricing really. You can leave the park to eat, but you're in the middle of nowhere to eat or pick up food anyway so there's no reason why you'd do that. The slides are mostly fun but there were a couple that people hurt themselves on. We were told by numerous people that the slides don't have the best injury records. I've been to waterparks allover and I could see that two of the slides were too fast, people were jumping on the humps and landing back on the slide. The dark tube slide is also too fast, throwing people out of their rings. The busses were reliable. Bang on time. When exiting they waited until the alloted departure time and left many of the people who came on the bus behind. I personal think this is more than fair as everyone knows the departure time and have plenty of time to get to the buses. There's also plenty of taxis if you decide not to take the bus.

Honestly, Texas Rancho tries to cover two bases by being a zoo and a waterpark but ends up doing neither well. The animals are healthy and well kept but the shows and information aren't interesting or engaging enough. The water park falls short of actually being fun and actually adds risk of injury on some of the slides. The tiny 15-20 meter lazy river with no tubes and the cave experience near the dolphins are absolute afterthoughts. Overall very disappointing. I'd advise against...

4.5 stars (Google can't you update your system and allow for half points and negative points?). Visited here while on beach holiday in Puerto Del Carmen. We don't do zoos, but this place is more protective of animals. Spacious for all. Pre-planned trip from their online website, choosing the shows we wanted to go to. But payment service in Spanish & wouldn't work anyway. So called & told to buy tickets on day. Was July so busy but we got in no problem. The first show for us was too early to take the free bus that's available for pick-up near to our hotel. We took a short, relatively cheap taxi ride first thing. Loved, loved, loved all the shows. Parrots and condors fly over the seated audience (need relatively well-behaved kids for these ;-). Dolphin show adorable - but seats are out in the open, so need a sun-hat or umbrella. Seal show was good too but limited seating, so may need to stand to see. Long queues everyone, but served eventually. Had lunch meal in the restaurant. Chips & tea later on in cafe (struggled to find somewhere to sit). Thankfully had our own water to see us through the day. Plenty of toilets.Though super-busy, they served us in good time, and food was basic but surprisingly tasty (spag bol) (Not at all McDonalds-type food!). Lots to walk around and see - attempted to walk across wagons - fine for kids/young adults - my partner had to help me (old bag) and another older guest who were having fun but got a bit stuck! After last show, went to sit by 2 pools - full of kids but enough space to have us to have a dip & then relax in beach chairs (had taken our swim stuff & beach towels, suntan lotion etc.) (Changing rooms available free, shop to buy stuff). Lost half a star for trying to get back to hotel at end. Free bus was late and us with many other parents& tired kids waiting around for bus to come (no seats or shade). (were a few taxis available). One staff member from Rancho stayed with last group to go, chasing up taxi and telling us which bus to get on (as very confusing which bus goes where). Got on bus & no air-conditioning!. On one of the stops in town, a couple with baby in arms tried to get their pram out from the carriage to no avail. They kept banging on the door to get drivers attention etc. Driver was about to drive off, when someone inside bus got his attention & stopped him. Whew! what a palava! Overall, Rancho Texas well worth a visit kids &...

The park is large and has a wide variety of animals.

We didn't go to or check out the watermark features.
