Family-owned winery in San Vicente de la Sonsierra--offers complimentary tours and tastings, but be sure to contact ahead to arrange the tour. Keeps split opening hours, with ample time for mid-day pause. The tour itself runs between thirty and forty-five minutes and is generally an intimate and highly personalized affair (we were two groups of two in our tour; conducted in a mix of Spanish, English and German). Tastings are generous and also highly personalized--we were able to taste everything that we wanted--the gran reserva, reserva, crianza, rosado, and blanco.
Hermanos Peciña makes both a traditionally-styled line of wine, Senorio de P. Peciña, and modern style. We're fans of the traditional style. Bottle prices are very reasonable, hospitality and service is excellent; highly recommend as an intimate tour in La Rioja, particularly to get a sense of the functioning and practical approaches of a smaller family winery. Highly recommended.

Idoia was our tour guide and tasting manager. One of the best tours in three weeks of touring la Rioja. Spectacular wines. Nearly the best we tasted among the 30 wineries we visited.

I highly recommend you call ahead and make this a definite visit if you were...
