Bodegas Sonsierra — Attraction in San Vicente de la Sonsierra

We booked the „Adventure & Momentos Sonsierra“ tour and had the greatest time! Our kayaking guide, Darío, was super nice and gave us a lot of insights into the ecosystem of the Rio Ebro, and we paddled in the most peaceful atmosphere for a good 90 minutes, before starting our tour in the bodega. Here, Beatriz showed us around the premises and explained the whole process to us. We were joining a tour that was planned in Spanish, but just for us, she went out of her way and made it a bilingual tour. The tour itself was spectacular, and Beatriz‘s explanations and stories made it even better. We tasted three interesting wines and liked them so much that we came back the next day to try a few more in their wine bar, and also buy a couple of bottles to max out our luggage limits on the flight home. Bodegas Sonsierra have given us a new dimension of quality. Comparing several wineries in Spain and Italy, this has proven to be the best so far. after a nice kayak trip in the river Ebro, we were picked up and driven straight into the vineyards where we got to taste the first wine and grapes directly from the vines. Lots of history about the area is shared and shown. We then went to the production site where we were given a tour through each area where we were given tastings at each location along the way. We were lucky enough to also taste straight from the barrels and taste the difference between American and French oak. This is something we have learned so much from, and will never forget. During our holliday in september, we did a last minute tour at the Bodega. With a direct respons on our request by mail, Beatriz was waiting for us when we arrived.

Allthough we booked the simple tour ( bodega+ tasting), we felt as a welcome guest for three hours .

Beatriz was a super guide and she explained everything in perfect english for us. Also the explanation of their latest project (including the concrete egg )was impressive .

We ended up with a very nice tasting and offcourse we took some nice wines...
