Cala Salada — Attraction in Sant Antoni de Portmany

Serene turquoise and crystal clear water for perfect swimming and soaking in the sun. Away from the old town but just 15 mins by a direct bus from Saint Antoni bus station. A must visit to experience the calm environment, people chilling and snorkeling. Pack your bag with some sandwiches, drinks etc but to keep the surroundings clean by disposing of the garbage and packages that you may leave. It's important we take care of these beautiful places by respecting them so that we can enjoy them for many more years.

Reaching there is easy by bus from Saint Antoni station in just 15 mins. It's far away if you're staying in the old town but a taxi would take around 20-30 mins or a bus route is always available if you have time, taking about 1-1.5hours (depending on the traffic) You will straight away reach the beach within 3 mins walking from the bus stop and a 10-15 mins hike ahead would take you to Cala Saladeta as shown in the pictures. Circondata da colline ricoperte di pini, la piccola e protetta insenatura sabbiosa di Cala Salada è la meta preferita dei residenti e dei proprietari di barche private. L'acqua è meravigliosamente limpida, poco profonda e perfetta per nuotare, e il fondale è per lo più morbido e sabbioso. Questa piccola spiaggia è molto affollata durante i fine settimana estivi, con gente persino sulle rocce che separano Cala Salada e la vicina Cala Saladita. Puoi anche saltare dalle scogliere ma, per favore, fai attenzione e controlla prima la profondità dell'acqua – non è sicuro tuffarsi da tutti i punti (anche se gli altri lo fanno).

Sul promontorio roccioso sulla destra si trova una pittoresca torre in pietra con sentieri che conducono in cima alla piccola frangia di spiaggia sabbiosa di Cala Saladita. A sinistra si trovano le rimesse per barche costruite nella roccia. I sentieri ben battuti che conducono alle colline sono famosi per le passeggiate in questa zona incontaminata.

Le Grotte di Ses Fontanelles Sono famose per le pitture rupestri risalenti all'età del bronzo. Se sei un esploratore, appena prima di raggiungere l'ingresso alla baia, gira a destra e prosegui sul camino (strada sterrata). Dovrai parcheggiare l'auto e proseguire a piedi su per le scogliere verso le grotte di Ses Fontanelles.

Il percorso è lungo, ma il panorama dalle alte scogliere è incredibile. Le grotte sono in realtà più che altro uno strapiombo e sono protette da sbarre di ferro, il che significa che sfortunatamente non vedrai granchè delle pitture rupestri. Tuttavia, se hai ancora energia, puoi scendere gli enormi gradini di pietra verso il mare, dove puoi fare il bagno in completa privacy. Per favore, fai attenzione.

Beach bar e ristoranti sulla spiaggia C'è un ristorante all'angolo della spiaggia che è estremamente popolare tra la gente del posto e offre ottimi piatti tradizionali come la paella di pesce. C'è anche un chiosco dove si possono prendere al volo gelati e bevande fredde...

Amazing beach just round the corner from San An and not an English yobbo in sight!! Parked and caught the bus as you need to be there early to grab one of the few parking spaces by the beach. Each way is €1.70 regardless of age which is a bit steep but well worth it as the beach on the north side is amazing. Lovely clear waters, excellent for snorkelling and rocks for jumping from. Beach sellers ranging from clothes, drinks and food are there a plenty bit not cheapest but the drink seller on the right gave us plenty of songs over his house beats which was entertaining. I would recommend wearing shoes as it as rocky trail...
