Cannot recommend a guided visit to Macià Batle enough. I think mostly you will need to book in advance so they can tell you when tours in your language. Ours was at 1.30pm on a Saturday with Alma (?) from Sweden and what a cosmopolitan group it was with Norwegians, Dutch, French, Japanese and Chinese guests. We tried to stay at the back as we were the only ones who's native language is English. The winery is quite modern, not huge so it makes for an interesting though not overly long tour. Better still 5 wines are served with delicious nibbles to accompany them after the tour. Alma was a great host and very knowledgeable about the winery and the wines themselves which were all very much enjoyed by both of us. It was a very friendly group and it felt like all friends together at the end (the wine obviously helped 😉) There's no pressure to buy afterwards but we did purchase 3 items. Thank you Alma and the team at Mencià Batle for a lovely day out. Just as extra note the railway station is just 5 minutes walk away so easy to get there from...
Read moreYou could not ask for a better experience than a visit to this winery and have Jasmyn as your hostess and guide. We arrived at 11 am and discovered the tour was at 11:30 am - no problem—she started pouring us wine we wouldn’t be tasting on the tour! Our group consisted of a group of wine drinkers including my brother who is in the Food and Beverage industry buying over a million bottles of wine per year. We all agreed this was the best, yes, the best tour we have ever been on...Napa, California, France, Italy...no comparison to the information, loving, gracious hospitality we experienced. And, all for 10€ per person! Not only were the wines excellent, but an unexpected treat to taste the crackers, olive oils, tapenades and jams made by the winery. We will. E leaving tomorrow, but with fond memories of Jasmyn and the wonderful time spent at Bodegas...
Read moreThe tour (in English) including tasting with local delicatessen was supposed to last an hour. The actual tour and explanation was ok enough even if brief, we were about 12 or so, but when we came to tasting area 10-15 min into the tour, there was a group of teenagers / young adults waiting only for the drinking bit. And when we were about to taste the second wine (of 4 in total) the rest of their group arrived. We were invaded by about 20 more dolled up youngsters ready to drink and take selfies of that. Hovering over the food table. And being very loud. Why the winery thought it was a good idea to combine that group with ordinary civilians who came to taste and enjoy some new savours, I don't know. But we left not finishing the third one . The wine was really...
