Castell de la Geltrú — Attraction in Vilanova i la Geltrú

I haven't been there yet but to set the record straight this building was a medieval fortress (not a castle) and now houses a regional history collection.

I looked it up since I'm an architect and the style intrigued me. From wiki:

The architecture is a fascinating blend of Romanesque and Gothic elements. The windows on the southern façade, adorned with intricate interlacing patterns and vegetal motifs, showcase the transition from Romanesque to Gothic design. Two of these windows date back to the late 13th century, while the others were added in the 14th century.

Although it's very spacious and it's kinda cold for people that like it, it's romanticism style misses some points and the shapes and forms create a simple form that is not too attractive to the eye counted in architectural design. It has too little too small windows and it doesn't translate to a good sensation of light. The castle resembling a church has an overall poor design technique and doesn't pop to the eye when seen.
