Stepping into the museum is like stepping back in time, surrounded by magnificent locomotives and carriages, each whispering tales of Catalonia's rich railway history.

Ebael 💖

Hi, fellow travelers!
How is your trip going? The path of Consciousness is not easy, but if it is done well, it offers surprises like the one I will show you below.
This day I took a break and stopped the train at the Railway Museum of Cataluña, in Barcelona, in Villanueva i la Geltrú. It was in July 2019.
The staff was very welcoming to me. I arrived by train from Barcelona to there.
I stopped by there to document myself for my novel about the railway and world conscience that I will soon publish. The library has some precious and very complete books. There they kindly accompanied me to have access to books and manuals, as soon as I explained the large-scale project that I am carrying out with the book.
The interior part of the museum has much of the history of the railway documented, as you can see in my photographs. The exterior of the museum is not far behind. I had the great privilege of taking photos with the first locomotive built in Spain, the Mataró, which traveled the first Barcelona - Mataró line in October 1848. Also with the Santa Fe and the Confederation, among many other beautiful machines. Everything is very well kept and maintained by the staff.
I think that the beauty that I saw in this place cannot be explained with words, so I leave you with the images. I also wanted to portray as many details and parts of a cabin as possible, to document myself in depth. I sincerely hope you like it.
A hug to all of you, with my special affection as always.
Love,
Ebael 💖

Read moreWe had a wonderful visit to the Museu del Ferrocarril de Catalunya! It's a great destination for any train lover, young or old. My child, who’s a huge train enthusiast, absolutely enjoyed it. The museum is set up in a way that allows you to explore at your own pace, making it feel like a unique journey through railway history.
The exhibits are well-spaced, and there’s a wide variety of trains to see, from classic locomotives to modern engines. One thing I would recommend for families with younger children is to do a bit of research beforehand. Knowing some background on the trains really enhances the experience and helps you appreciate the historical significance of each piece. The museum provides a lot of information, but a little extra context made it even more enjoyable for us.
Overall, it was a fun, educational outing and a must-visit for anyone interested in trains. A fantastic day out that’s both informative and...
