Playa del Papagayo — Attraction in Yaiza

Really great place to dive or snorkel!! Fantastic flora and fauna underwater. Hidden caves and unique animals I've seen there. Was a great experience! On the beach no options for shade, so if you plan for a whole day there, definitely take a sunbrella or a pop up beach tent with you. Take a watershoes with you if your feet is sensible, as if there is low tide, it's stony there. Otherwise it's sandy and amazing. One restaurant is at the top of the hill side, next to the beach. Always busy and que there, so if you hate to wait, take food and drink with you. If you go buy car, you just have yo pay €3 for the parking there per day. We loved it!! We can just...

Not really worth the time. The road to get there is just bad and upon arriving you have to choose between one of two beaches and not much else. For such a crowded space to not have any toilet (except perhaps the two restaurants, of which one proudly claims "online reservations only" and the other having long queues to pick up the tab), that seems just bad planning. Talk about tourist traps... If I ever saw one, this must be it. It doesn't matter how beautiful or not the place or beaches may be, what you get upon arriving will surely outweigh that and the end result is...

Playa del Papagayo ist ohne Zweifel einer der schönsten Strände auf Lanzarote. Er kann von Playa Blanca entweder über einen Fußweg oder mit dem Auto über eine ca. 5 Km lange Schotterpiste erreicht werden. Für die Einfahrt zahlt man an einem Haltepunkt 3 €. Von der Piste zweigen Wege ab, über die auch andere Strände erreicht werden können. Vom Parkplatz aus erreicht man den Papagayo Beach über einen abschüssigen Fußweg, der für Gehbehinderte schlecht zu bewältigen ist, für Nichtgehbehinderte aber kein Problem darstellt. Der Strand selbst ist durch das türkisfarbene Wasser und die Felsen so malerisch, dass sogar Hochzeitspaare trotz der der Badegäste hierherkommen, um sich ablichten zu lassen. Wellengang ist aufgrund der geschützten Situation kaum vorhanden, somit lassen sich auch kleibnere Fische beobachten, die fast bis zum Strand kommen. Schnorcheln macht hier wirklich Spaß. Allerdings erschweren Steine an manchen Stellen den Einstieg ins Meer. Wenn der Wind aus einer ungünstigen Richtung weht, kann der Aufenthalt am Strand allerdings zu einer Qual werden, da der Flugsand ungebremst auf den Körper trifft.
