Its location close to the beach is convenient yet can become an issue at peak hours of the day.
Limited seating creates queues that should be expected, and wait times can reach 40 minutes or more.
The toilet was also broken at the time, proving an inconvenience after the drive along the long dirt road, but this is something I wont consider for overall rating since it was just unlucky timing. Their facilities are still reasonable.
We ordered a list of starters, as the mains had limited choices other than large seafood which wasnt on our appetite. I would recommend this method of multiple starters as it could save you a potentially expensive meal.
Our 3 starter-type dishes + drinks brought the price to around €40.
Overall the food and sauces were very complimentary and the grilled cheese was excellent. This has cleared my previous doubts about quality. In general, if you wish to have a day out by the beach down below, consider eating at a convenient time to avoid standing out in the...
Read moreJust returned from a fabulous lunch at this place and cant believe the poor reviews being left. We had quality fresh fish and local wine (Yaiza secco) and frankly cheaper (and so much better) than food and drink we get in our local pubs/restaurants in Surrey.
Also service was absolutely fine. Very friendly staff. So much so that we upped the service charge from the discretionary amount on the bill which was only 7% so very low compared to UK levels.
Frankly, if all you want is a hot dog etc or expect to be able to use the toilets for free (just buy a drink or pay 4 euros you stingy twt) then just buger off back to Playa Blanca were all your oikish requirements will be met.
The idea that the staff have got something against the English just shows how ignorant some of the negative reviewers are. Just try to be polite and even use a bit of Spanish rather than barking you burger and chips with large beer orders as loud as you can. You never know it might just improve your own...
Read moreWe went like most people at Papagayo beach to this restaurant because it is the only one closeby. We had to wait outside before the waiter rudely invited us in. Then we were seated at a decent spot where we were pushed 6 times within 5 minutes to pick something to eat. As we were choosing, we were then asked, are you going to eat or not? We ordered a water, papas arrugadas and gambas con ajillo with some bread. For this we were charged nearly 30(!!!) euros, but since we were hungry we chose to eat anyways. We then observed the staff being extremely rude to non-spanish customers by making fun of them and not even trying to respond in english. Obviously the location is gorgeous, but I would recommend eating and drinking elsewhere before you go to this...
