We arrived at the entrance somewhere in the middle of the day. While waiting in line, we heard the guy selling tickets that there are no more places / tickets for sale at the moments. We went to their website, reserved two tickets 30 minutes in advance, we took a small walk around the fortress until the time passed and we returned at the ticket kiosk. We picked our tickets, paid for them and joined the fortress. Therefore I recommend you to buy / reserve tickets in advance. The fortress is beautiful, it displays the impressive architecture of Arabia by the construction of the columns. The rooms of the fortress have beautifully painted and designed ceilings. Overall it took us about 1h to go through the whole fortress. This place is not handicap friendly. There is a free toilet inside and no parking on premises.

This is a castle with moorish influences very similar to the ones you find in Seville, Cordeba and Grenada. Having visited them all this Palace in my opinion is not as good. To visit you need to first go onto Palace website and register the date and time of your visit. This needs to be done at least 24 hours before visit. You will get an email with a reference number but you won't have to pay. On day you show email at ticket office and pay the admission fee (normally €5 per adult). There is plenty to see in terms of architecture and the gardens but very little is in any language other than spanish. You can spend €3 for an audio tour in language of your choice. Also there were parts of Palace which were off limits such as the ramparts and the tower. The Palace is about 20 minutes from centre of town or it has its own stop on the tourist bus. Its not bad for 5 euros but I have seen better.

A small castle, currently housing the Aragonese Parliament. In the ticket price there was also included a guided tour, which was a great opportunity to find out more about the history of this amazing building. There is also a dedicated app full of resources. The palace is just a 20-30 minutes walk from the city center, and it is also accessible by public transportation. I recommend you to book the tickets in advance, online. When I visited, there was a big qeue outside, and not everyone managed to enter. Compared to other similar places I visited (Alhambra in Granada, Real Alcazar in Seville), this place is not that impressive, but it still worth a visit.

You NEED to make an online reservation first. I assume it’s not as busy outside of the summer months, but I had to come back the next day because I didn’t realize they would run out of tickets. A few other people were in my situation too, so it’s quite common. I highly recommend one of the guided visits. It really helped appreciate and understand everything we were seeing. There’s one in English at 11 AM and one in French at 5 PM and a bunch in Spanish. It was a wonderful visit. I really loved everything about it and I spent quite some time there. It’s really cool to see the Muslim palace, the Christian palace in the modern parliament in one place.

A beautiful palace that displays the history of the city of Zaragoza. Originally billed by more conquerors and then taken over by Christian Kings who expanded on it. The palace has a text guide which can be found online, even though the folks selling tickets did not tell us about it. Navigating the palace can be a little bit confusing if you don't use the map that you can find online. Also note that a large portion of the castle is used by the parliament of Aragon so you won't be able to see all of it. But the most important pieces like the throne room and the garden are accessible to tourists. This is definitely a palace and castle worth visiting.
