The Naturum Vattenriket in Kristianstad is the second Naturum we visited in Sweden and we were really impressed. In addition to being very accessible (it is located behind Kristianstad's railway station), it has an interesting variety of attractions for all ages: walks of varying length in the wet area all around the visitors' centre, well-presented exhibits and information inside the centre, as well as the Opteryx, a 4D experience adding the spectator's movements to a filmed exploration of environments both above and under water. One of the staff members, Sussie, explained with enthusiasm about the cranes that visit the vattenriket area between mid-April and mid-May. Their changing display of fishes found in the area is an easy way to impart information. The restaurant on the second level is value for money, also the view is nice. There were a number of guides on hand showing the exhibits and answering visitors' questions. A gift shop offers a variety of nice cards, books and trinkets.
