You think Slussen is da bomb? Think again! Hornstulls Subway station has it all: elevators, lifts, overly pricy shops, and sliding doors. The best thing, though, must be that it's close to no less than three average sized bridges. Yes, that's right, being on an island, the closeness to bridge is much lower than for the average subway station, in fact, even for a relative island rich area as Stockholm, the Hornstull Subway station is among the top stations in regards to access to bridges. The Hornstull Subway station has excellent connections. Being a Subway station, you can access it from almost any other Subway station in Stockholm - or Sweden, seeing that all subway's in Sweden are connected to the Stockholm Subway system. There's also a rich variety of buses stopping close to the Hornstull Subway station, notably the bus no. 4, coming from or going to Kungsholmen, or the bus no. 77 connecting to Liljeholmen (mainland Stockholm, would it not be for the Swedish governments - through SCB - decision to reclassify Södertörn as an island, although Södertälje Canal being artificial). The biggest downside to Hornstull must be it's availability for tavellers going by airplane. The densely populated Södermalm makes landing an airplane hard, while the closest airport being a good 40 minutes away (best case scenario for domestic travellers). All in all, Hornstull's Subway station is worthwhile visit, although it might be more welcoming towards environmentally...
