We must thank Basel governing authorities for maintaining such a vast and beautiful park in the city. It has a bus and tram connection to it from various points. I think more than ten play spots are available exclusively for children.
I appreciate the meticulously planned vast green grass spaces with chairs for elderly people. Looking at those tall and bulky trees I feel small and humble.
There is a small structure erected in memory of war veterans inside the park. It lists the names of those soldiers during two different periods. A one page write up with precise details may help tourists like me to understand the importance of this memorial.

Has a wading pool in summer which turns into a skate park in winter. Has a wc but is not well maintained. Great for grilling, jogging and leisurely walks. Dogs not allowed in here. It offers a variety of playing grounds for children, has a ping pong table area and most importantly, a great deal of wonderful nature in the form of plants.
