Bernaqua | Erlebnisbad | Fitness | Wellness — Attraction in Bern

I recently visited Bernaqua for the sauna and spa experience. Having visited spas across Europe for over two decades, I must say this was by far the worst experience I've had. One positive note is that the facility is spotlessly clean. However, all other aspects were disappointing.

Firstly, the design and materials of the building are very unwelcoming. Hard surfaces reflect all sounds, including children, breathing, walking, and cleaning equipment, which is constantly in use. Even at distances of 20-30 meters, you hear everything. It results in a constant barrage of indistinct sounds that permeate even the saunas. The sleep/silent room is also plagued by the sound of the nearby highway, coupled with ventilation noise, and it is uncomfortably cold. Additionally, it looks like a garage filled with mismatched furniture.

Moreover, the signage is very confusing. Upon entry, you're greeted by a cacophony of screaming children, and due to the poor acoustic design, it is quite painful on the ears. There seems to be a separate spa dressing room, but it's only for members. As a result, you end up walking a significant distance to find an empty dressing room, only to realize you need to wear bathing clothes to access the sauna area. Finding the showers is another challenge, as you must pass two saunas and follow confusing signage. It appears forbidden to use soap in some showers, but later on, you discover another shower area where soap use is presumably allowed.

The shower water seems full of chlorine. My eyes hurt like when i was diving in school pool with open eyes but no goggles. And the lighting is harsh white LED, directly in your face. The overall aesthetic feels like a mix of Soviet and East German influences, devoid of any understanding of rich Russian or European sauna culture. Despite the use of high-end materials, the design lacks coherence. For example, one sauna features a “catwalk” that squeaks and is poorly lit, making you feel uncomfortable under the dim white LED light while others stare at you. I normally don't mind being naked in public spaces, but this place made me feel very self-conscious and uncomfortable.

Some vending machines with dry salads and no cutlery to top it off.

I believe some plants, wooden room dividers, and a separate dressing room could significantly improve the atmosphere. It needs a touch of warmth and thoughtful design. As it stands, I left with more stress and less money. And I am not typically a complaining type.

Save your time and money and go somewhere else to recharge. If you really must go I highly recommend you take earplugs and shades/sleep...

Da hei gwüssi Konkurrente definitiv meh z biete (meh Uswau und moderner, da online Kouf möglich isch).

➖❌ Ticket Kouf generell: Grundsätzlich gits nur 2 möglichi Uswau Möchglichkeite: Entwäder 2h (33.-) oder äh ganze Tag (45.-). 👉🏻Schwach😔🤦‍♂️🤬

Mitene "Wasserpark" wird gross gworbe, d Realität vom "Wasserpark" isch, was es lediglich genau 3!!Wasserrutschine git😱🤬

Nit z grösste Wellness Agebot,im Verglich zum Aquabasilea oder Säntispark leider komplett chancelos.

Leider git mä sich ih däm Punkt absolut KE Müh😔.

Ih erster Linie gits nur ungesundi Standart Bade Klassiker, aber ou "Fertig Salat" etc😜🤪.

Voukome ungesund und richtig lieblos😧.

Äs passt dazue,was es im Bernaqua diversi Snack Outomate mit ungesundem Ässe und trinke git🤦‍♂️😔.

Gsundi Alternative wie zb Teigware/Pasta etc sucht mä hie vergäbens😔.

➖❌ Eher türi Prise,ungsunds Verpflegigs Agebot.

➖❌ Z Personal isch ziemlich schnäu überfordert,wes Gäst git,wo Änglisch oder Französisch rede🙈😂.

➖❌ Händyverbot im GSAMTE Bernaqua (Ou im Restaurant) 🤯:

Händyverbot im gsamte Bernaqua fingi ja eigentlich äh guti Idee und ou nachvollziehbar,um anderi Gäst und sich säuber chöne schütze. (Privatsphäre).

ABER:

Mir läbe im 2025 und da si Händy mittlerwile praktisch unverzichtbar worde.

Das mä Händy im Badebereich und überau dört verbietet,wos "heiku" isch/chönt wärde (Sauna,Wellness etc) chani ja no verstah, aber ou äs kompletts Händyverbot im RESTAURANT??!

Was söu mä süsch mache,weme ufs sis Ässe/sini Bstellig wartet? Decki aluge und Sekunde und Minute zöue?

Chunt (erschwärend) dazu, ENTWÄDER gäute aui Regle glich für aui,ODER mä lahts grad ganz lah si mitem "Händyverbot".

Im Restaurant gani eigentlich nit davo us,was es Spamer oder Pädophilie git,oder dass mä wildfremdi Lüt filmet,bzw gfilmet wird🙈.

Z Bernaqua isch mau gut und attraktiv gsi.

Leider zeige sich (bi gnauem häre luge), immer wie meh Zerfau Erschinige.

Äs herrscht äs Deinträsse/leider het mä nur no äs chlises/weni inträsse daran, attraktiv und wettbewärbigsfähig si/z bliebe,um mit dä andere Wasserparks/ Konkurrenz chöne z mit haute.

Mä het sich quasi säubst ufgäh und isch leider nur no äh "Schatten seiner selbst".

Ir 1.Linie geits nur no darum,weni Usgabe, dafür meh/möglichst vieu Profit/Umsatz z mache.👉🏻 Sehr schad😔😪.

Relax and sport in 1 place. Super for families. I LIKE THAT PLACE BECAUSE IT'S VERY CLEAN. Different slides. An easy chute for families with positiv buoyancy devises. Free to use also like the wardrobe. Put your chip next to the lock and it's locked. Keep the number of your wardrobe in mind. The fast slides only for sport peoples. Light show inside the tubes make it unforgettable. Outside is a saltwater pool with massage places. The food is fantastic. Familie portion is big and not expensive. Cameras are not allowed. That's why no photos. It's a modern place with loads of electronics I never had seen bevor. I will go again and again. Many pools with different temperatures. We where there for 3 hours. We payd for tje parking place only CGF 0.60 .- Attention children want stay I recommend to be organised. Boys and girls we go to the shower in 30 min. In 60...
