Monte San Salvatore (912 m a.s.l) towers majestically over Lugano, offering a unique perspective of Lake Ceresio, the Lombard plain and of the magnificent mountain ranges of the Swiss and Savoy Alps. The church roof and the Capodoro Terrace with their lookout points offer stunning 360° panoramic views.

Relax

Gaze into the distance and enjoy the moment while your children have fun in the nearby playground! On the San Salvatore you can relax and chill out, just a stone’s throw from the bustling city.

Excursions

From the mountain top, you can descend down along the hiking trail that leads to Ciona (Carona) or to Pazzallo and Paradiso. It winds its way through an unspoiled and regenerating landscape with several lookout points offering magnificent panoramic views. A nature path well suited to all, from families to schools, winds its way along the mountain top ridge; besides the breathtaking look-out points, you will also be able to discover many of nature’s treasures and wonders. More experienced and braver mountain climbers, with the right equipment, will be tempted to climb the exclusive “via...

Tickets sale people are very unhelpful and wouldn't talk to you until car will arrive. And only then you can purchase your tickets. Interesting...Nobody is in rush here lol You have to change cable cars in the middle, its very smooth process since they arrive at the same time. One goes always down and one goes up. It's very steep and beautiful view of Lugano but then you loose Lugano view because it's behind the mountain. You can see very good Campione D'Italia and Paradiso and Bissone and Melide.

Overall we didn't spent to much time there because we were on last train before they close. I think it was around 6 pm in first week of September.

It's not cheap for 2 people even with TICINO ticket we paid over 60 CHF. It was very beautiful view but if you are not planning to take trails and be there more than few hours maybe you should reconsider. I never been in mountains for me it was first time so we went up there but all the shops and museum was closed. We had access only to small church that was...

From the moment you step into the funicular, you know you're in for a treat. The ride itself is incredibly scenic and smooth, offering breathtaking views of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the journey up to the summit was a delight.

Once at the top, the views are absolutely heavenly. The 360° panorama from the church roof and the Capodoro Terrace is spectacular, providing a unique perspective of the city, the lake, and the Swiss and Savoy Alps.

It's the perfect place to relax, take in the moment, and capture some stunning photos. There are also beautiful hiking trails and a restaurant with panoramic views, making it a complete experience.

This was such a fun and memorable experience! I highly recommend this funicular ride to anyone visiting Lugano. It's truly a must-do activity that offers great value for the price and leaves you with memories that will...

There was a long line. It is the weekend so probably normal. However, they only have one line whether you already have an online ticket or need to buy a ticket. There are signs at the front to scan a QR code and buy online, but it doesn't get you through any faster. I went to the website and bought a ticket online before I got there and still had to wait. I was able to use my Ticino pass online. However, I only seemed to get a 15% discount instead of 20%. Not sure what was wrong there. The funicular runs every 30 minutes and holds around 50 people. The times aren't like clockwork. You go halfway up on one funicular and then stop and switch to another one on the other side. I think you can walk down, at least part of the way. There is a restaurant, a viewpoint, and a museum at the top. A nice place to walk around. There are restrooms at the top as well.
