Well worth a visit. Entry fee is really minimal. CHF 15 for adults. Amazing to see the military aircraft’s forming part of history. Well showcased. The museum is all undercover (so indoors ), ideal for rainy days if you want to get out a bit. I would put aside around 3 hours to get through all the halls of displays. Write ups and explanations are in German , if you do not understand German take your mobile phone and use Google translate. There is a restaurant attached to the museum. Staff are very friendly and the menu has a good choice of food for all pallets. There is an outdoor seating area and an indoor seating area. I would recommend booking a table if you visit on a Saturday during lunchtime and if it is in the school holidays. There is sufficient parking available if you are travelling by car and if you are using public transport the museum is only about a 15 minute walk from the train station. The are toilets onsite and also an area to hang jackets if you don’t feel like walking around with your jackets. There are also lockers available should you wish to store items while...
Read moreAmazing museum. I went here today at the recommendation of a very good friend of mine who grew up in Dubendorf. What a great museum. I really enjoyed all the planes and helicopters going way back into the deep Swiss history of aviation. What I really enjoyed as all the information on the radar and missile defense systems in Switzerland (specifically the Alps). The staff was very friendly. Nice cafe and restaurant as well.
Museum is about a 30 minute bus right from Zurich Airport. Easy. Hop on bus 759 and go to Dubendorf Nord Bahnhof. It is about a 5-6 min walk from the bus stop.
Thank you for the...
Read moreSpent the afternoon here, was a great museum of old military aircraft, 3 hangars full. Have to say, very nicely layed out and easy to get around, spacious and open areas to see airplanes from wood and fabric to fighter jet made of metal and piston engines. Very interesting, what was made by humans engines and planes with no panels and pieces missing to show the design and what was inside. Information with detailed descriptions and dates for all the latest exhibits, from Hunters, Fokker, DeHavilands to Phantoms and more. Great for anyone who is interested in aircraft or military, great stuf,...
