Kandersteg hike proved to be an incredible adventure amidst Switzerland's stunning landscapes, but it's essential to note that it can get a little wet at times. The trail's enchanting meadows and dense forests are accompanied by the gentle sounds of nearby streams, creating a serene escape into nature. However, as the hike progresses to higher elevations, it's wise to be prepared for possible damp conditions.
In light of this, I highly recommend wearing waterproof boots to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable hike. With proper footwear, you can fully immerse yourself in the captivating scenery without worrying about soggy socks or discomfort.
The rewarding views and picturesque Oeschinensee, a mountain lake surrounded by majestic cliffs, make the Kandersteg hike an unforgettable experience. Although it may pose some challenges, the sense of accomplishment and the beauty of the Swiss Alps make it a must-do for outdoor enthusiasts. Bring along water, snacks, and your trusty waterproof boots for a memorable journey into Switzerland's natural...
Read moreThis was probably my favorite hike while visiting Switzerland. Absolutely doable and incredibly breath taking. We took the train from Interlaken to Kandersteg. Once you get off, you can walk to the gondola ride or take a quick bus ride to that entrance. At the bottom of the gondola ride, you purchase your tickets, get a map or use a QR code to get it on your phone. After a short trip up the gondola ride, you'll arrive at the top. From there you'll have many many options of hiking trails to take. There is a short easy trail that will take you straight to the lake for that beautiful view. I would recommend to continue hiking further up from there because the experience and views are memorable. If you are afraid of heights, there will be some hikes you may want to avoid but luckily there are plenty that don't give you vertigo. What a...

We decided to take the cable car up & down while focusing on the hike around. The weather was rather foggy so the pictures turned out a little grey but in actuality, it was still a breathtaking view!
The route we took went up and around the mountain across some waterfalls and down towards a meadow of cows! It was relatively doable but be sure to wear proper hiking shoes with a good grip, it can get pretty slippery on a wet day. Along with going downhill, the rocks did slip and slide and we did stumble a bit.
However, every step, every stumble was all worth it for the picturesque view from the top! There are lovely picnic spots around so pack a sandwich, some chips, some drinks and find a spot and...
