This is a great place to spend your layover. Looking at the planes, taking off and landing. There is a lot of history about the different airlines that operate at this airport, which is pretty interesting. It was a nice treat. I’d go to the observation deck again if I had time.

What a great feature at the Zurich airport for aviation enthusiasts and travelers. The deck is huge and when we visited it was empty. There’s ample space for kids to run around and play on the Swiss Air slide. There are a few built in viewing telescopes and lawn chairs.

La piattaforma di osservazione Deck E dell'Aeroporto di Zurigo offre un'esperienza unica per gli appassionati di aviazione e per le famiglie. Situata nell'area pubblica dell'aeroporto, consente di osservare da vicino gli aerei al terminal E e di godere di una vista panoramica sull'intero scalo e sulle Alpi circostanti. La sua posizione è lontana dal terminal principale, per cui si ha una vista d'insieme dell'intero aeroporto. E' ottima per osservare i decolli dalla pista 16 e 28 e tutti i movimenti al suolo del raccordo E che porta alla testata della pista 16. Il bosco a nord impedisce la visione della pista 14 perchè la ostruisce, tuttavia si possono osservare gli arrivi proprio da questa pista verso il terminal principale.

The idea of an observation deck on the terrace of the terminal building is excellent, especially with rather picturesque surroundings.
