Château de Chenaux — Attraction in Lac de Neuchâtel (NE)

A beautiful chateau overlooking Lake Neuchatel, with a nice little garden. Getting inside is free, and you can climb up one of the towers.

If you travel by train it will take you about 20 minutes to reach this castle from the train station (You are likely not to feel the walk was that long as you will cross the town which have some beautiful churches and other buildings as well). Heute hatten wir das Vergnügen, das Schloss Chenaux während eines mittelalterlichen Marktes zu besuchen. Das Schloss selbst ist auf jeden Fall sehenswert und bietet eine faszinierende Kulisse, die perfekt zur Atmosphäre des Mittelalter-Spektakels passt. Die Kombination aus Geschichte und Unterhaltung macht den Besuch zu einem besonderen Erlebnis.

Leider muss ich jedoch auch einige Kritikpunkte anbringen. Die Ausführung des Marktes war insgesamt eher schwach. Besonders enttäuschend waren die begrenzten Essensangebote, sodass wir gezwungen waren, in ein nahegelegenes Restaurant auszuweichen – etwas, das uns in der Deutschschweiz bisher noch nie passiert ist. Zudem schloss der Markt bereits um 18:00 Uhr, was an einem Samstag sehr ungewöhnlich ist und den Abend deutlich verkürzt hat.

Trotz dieser Punkte bleibt das Schloss Chenaux ein schöner Ort, den man unbedingt besuchen sollte. Mit etwas Verbesserungsbedarf könnte es ein herausragendes...
